Too little, too late. This should have been done 60 days ago.But.....if I remember correctly Obama was busy golfing that day, or
fundraising - can't remember which?
I agree with 1conservative. Not enough and way too late.I don't
believe the B.O. administration has the stomach for a real fight, even though
the US could wipe out isis in a matter of days. He is just trying to make it
look like he is doing something "presidential" to distract everyone from
the open border fiasco, and the dozen other scandals he is involved in; for
which he should be thrown out of office and frog-marched to federal prison.
You two sound like George Bush before he invaded Iraq. News flash Americans are
sick of wars.
@mcclarkSpeak for yourself. This is not about war, it is
about helping others whom we can help and need our help.Or should we
ignore the suffering and needs of others, even though we could have helped?
@mcclark,Yes, I am sure they are. I mean, they are really inconvenienced
at the prospect of keeping the faith with the Kurds who have done so much to
help us. Don't you think that these Iraqi Christians are a bit put out
that they have to flee for their lives? This action is the latest action by
ISIS, and they will not stop at any borders. Next is Turkey, not a good
prospect for regional stability if they fall.I fought in Iraq in
2003, and was in the mountains of Kurdistan for a short time. When I see what
we did to facilitate freedom just given away in the name of political
expediency......These airstrikes needed to happen weeks ago...
Hey Jack -"When I see what we did to facilitate freedom just
given away in the name of political expediency"What we did in
the name of freedom?!??You mean . . . making an unprovoked attack on
a nation and then occupying it? . . . FOR NO GOOD REASON.. . . No
WMD threat, just lies from the Bush administration. We
"facilitate freedom?" How? . . . By freeing over 100 THOUSAND mostly
Sunni Iraqis of their earthly lives?GW Bush lied to the American
people and put American troops in harms way for NO GOOD REASON.The
Iraq war was a complete DISASTER for America. We manufactured thousands of
terrorists whose deepest desire now is to avenge the hundred thousand dead and
to see Americans wiped off the face of the earth . . . Not to mention the over
4000 American lives lost and all the money dumped into that pit.Now
ISIS is extremely well armed by the hundreds of billions of dollars in military
equipment we left in Iraq.Pointing the finger of blame at the Obama
administration is completely PREPOSTEROUS.Face the facts Jack . . .
"Conservative" leadership does NOTHING but damage to this nation and our
allies.Demanding that we should have re-immersed ourselves in Iraq
Liberals are totally worthless during wars! They don't believe there is
ever any good reason for war! Conservatives know there is only one good reason
for war: freedom from dictatorships or to keep from being murderered, period!
Dropping a few bombs to help the situation and then letting Iraq know if that
responsibility to fight this war is theirs is smart.
The biggest blunder of this entire mess was when George Bush prodded along by
Dick Cheney agreed to go to war in Iraq, to topple a dictatorship, albeit
brutal, at least had the Sunnis, Shias, and Kurds under control.Christians had nearly 10 percent of the population of Iraq when Bush invaded.
Now there are virtually none. There was even a Christian in Saddam
Hussein's cabinet. Why? Because Bush as a part of the surge armed the
troops now fighting on ISIS's side. Then Obama made things worse in Syria
almost invading that country but funding and giving weapons to, you guessed it,
ISIS.Obama has made some bad blunders. He owns the crisis now. But
do not forget how Iraq came to be what it is today: BUSH.
Iraq would be a story that ranks up there with skateboarding dogs except for
Bush demanding we own it. Now look...
@1conservative - and don't forget the B.O. wife Michelle is working on a
vacation for Christmas in Hawaii.
ISIS have weapons from Qatar.Guess where Qatar gets their military
weapons? Our commander just had over eight billion dollars worth of
weapons sent to Qatar. What happened to gun control?
Obama's response is too little, too late, too slow?back during
the heady days of WWII, the US sat on the sidelines while China and Japan killed
hundreds of thousands of each other for YEARS.Then Germany invaded
Poland in September 1939, and we jumped right in!--oh, wait! No we
didn't.We sat on the sidelines From late 1939 to 1941 while
Germany formed the Axis alliance with Fascist Italy, conquering or subduing much
of continental Europe, and Imperial Japan attacked European territories in the
Pacific Ocean, and quickly conquered much of the Western Pacific. Then there was Pearl Harbor, December 7th 1941, and we did not fight back
until over four months later.By comparison, President Obama's
response seems downright swift!
