No matter what is in the bill, Harry Reid will block it! It will NEVER see
daylight in the Senate regardless!
Thanks to the Republican leadership who are listening to the majority of
Americans. We want our laws enforced, it's the only way to stop these
border surges. Making everyone follow the laws of the land is true compassion.
@mountan man You do realize that same senate sent the house an
immigration bill more then a year ago that the house has roundly ignored. May I
suggest the GOP clean up thier own house before criticizing others.
Although the House has passed more immigration bills this year than the
Democrats, they are widely criticized by Obama, the Democrats and the media. Now
the shoe is on the other foot. Call or email your Senator. Let them
know how you feel about the House bill.
OK, Mr. Obama. It's your turn. But you've already told the House
NO. I thought the GOP was the party of NO?Every time you don't get
your way you blame it on race or hate or Bush. That tune is getting old.You created this mess and continue to attract people to the border to line up
for your deferred action. It's time to close the door so they won't
risk their lives to get here. You can't convert this crisis over to
amnesty. Your plan has been foiled. Let's close this loophole before more
children die in the attempt to become your next wave of DREAMERS.
"President Barack Obama condemned the Republican action and said he’d
act unilaterally, as best he could."See, it's not about
passing a bill, it's about passing "his" bill. The U.S.
workers & Central American children won in U.S. House tonight. If it stops
the death of a child, or the rape of a young girl it's worth it. It has to
stop sometime, and now is as good a time as any. Matheson voted
against the bill, Stewart, Chavez and Bishop voted for it.
@ intervention. Baloney! What Senate bill are you talking about? What the
Senate bill 744 proposed amounted to amnesty for about 11 million illegals, tens
of billions (open ended) of taxpayer dollars for welfare for illegals and
NOTHING that would really secure the borders! All it would do is encourage MORE
illegal immigration, period! Thankfully the House didn't pass it!
"They're not even trying to solve the problem," the president said.
"I'm going to have to act alone, because we do not have enough
resources."See, it's not about passing a bill, it's
about passing his bill. He finds the resources when he wants to. The children
coming across the border are getting healthcare faster than our Veterans. This is a victory for the American worker, and for Central
America's children. Once parents learn they will not be able to stay, they
will use the $5,000-10,000 to hire a lawyer so they can come here legally.
Central America does not have a long wait list like Mexico. If it saves the life
of a child, or keeps a young girl from being raped, it's worth it. We can only stop this by enforcement, amnesty will only continue this
problem. It's time to stop it now.
The president prefers to act alone since he doesn't know how to negotiate.
He actually prefers to not receive bills from Congress so that he has more of an
excuse to exceed his executive order powers. There is no doubt
Obama's unilateral immigration action 2 years ago led to the current border
crisis. As such, it makes total sense that the House would take action to
rescind that ill-conceived measure. As far as Obama complaining that
$659 million is not enough money to deal with the problem... It is more than
$12,000 per current illegal child, which common sense says should be plenty. But
the government is known for wasting money and not being efficient. At the very
least, its plenty to take stop-gap measures until Congress returns from its
recess. As such, there is no legitimate excuse to use more unilateral executive
orders for the time being.
This is the first action to address the underlining cause, that I have seen in a
long time. You don't reward bad behavior and expect it to end. As for the Democrats that want to give away our jobs, we will remember you at
The bills Obama passed were to integrate young immigrants that came here when
they were children. They have been raised here as Americans but have no
paperwork. They wanted the opportunity to study to contribute to society and
they were already here. But this is not important to republicans. Republicans
just want all immigrants out of the US no matter what. The other bill Obama
passed, as far as the article mentions, made it possible for, immigrants to work
to be self suficient. This was a way to integrate these immigrants into society,
preventing them of joining gangs or doing other things. These were also
immigrants that were living here already for many years, immigrants with
families to support. But the solution for republicans is always to get rid of
the immigrants. I don't support ilegal immigration and I think
borders should be secured. At the same time I think that once a person has been
living in the US for many years, already has a family and has not committed
crimes, they deserve to be given the opportuntiy to stay. The same opportunity
that was given to all the immigrants that came to US from Europe.
The tea party continues to fail and take down the Republican party
The House of Representatives "walked the walk" instead of the good
ole' boys' "talk the talk". My calls to our Representatives
were among those who "fried the lines" and stopped the bad H.L.5230. The
American people are going to have to get involved instead of just sitting around
and whining! We can make the calls, and we can vote all these liberals out of
office. Dealing with the president is another matter. He will probably still say
the House did nothing so he has to take action! Remember. I am
presently drafting my personal letter to Sen. Orrin Hatch on some matters of
concern to me. He's next!
Brought here as children, and now adults, they are now responsible for their own
legal status, and programs already exist to help them gain legal status, but for
most, they would prefer America bail them out with amnesty. We are raising a
generation with the knowledge that crime pays. The seed that plants could haunt
us for decades. Do we reward bank robbers children with the money
their parents stole? If they did not supply surplus labor, does anyone thing the
business community would still be paying billions to keep them here? These adults that qualify for the DACA waiver do not have to go to school
after high school. The work permits allow them to take jobs from America's
workers. The fact that Democrats don't feel guilty about giving citizens
jobs away, is disturbing.
