Former Jazzman Kyle Korver also makes the roster
Obviously,, national basketball pundits see the skills and potential in Hayward
more-so than a lot of local Jazz fans who comment on these on-line article
posts. It's a real honor to be chosen for this national team. More NBA
teams than not didn't have any of their players chosen. Now
that Hayward is decidedly a long-term Jazz player (and starter), we should get
behind him and support him (and the rest of the team) all the way. Am I jealous
of his contract? Darn right I am. But I certainly don't blame him for
getting whatever the free-market would allow. Kudos to him for the way the NBA
as a whole perceives him. At his young age, I believe his best basketball is yet
to come. He hasn't yet hit his prime. I'm genuinely
excited about this and upcoming seasons. They will set a solid foundation for
long-term success in a similar way to how San Antonio has done it. Dennis
Lindsey was a part of that.It now feels like the Jazz are headed in
the right direction, both from a coaching standpoint as well as with player
Anyone care to predict whether Hayward or Parsons make the twelve-man cut?
Both? Neither? If Gordon ends up playing on this team, will that
make the max contract a little more justifiable in the eyes of us fans? If he
doesn't, I know the outcry against it will be even louder!
Houston is going to rue the day they let Parsons walk. Dallas is now a top four
team in the West.
Let's put a stop to this right now.. Hayward is better than Parsons.
Thank you, Copacetic, for saying something so very positive about Gordon. His
being selected to this US Men's team is good recognition for his abilities.
I, too, am excited for this season with the new faces as well as the returning
"old" ones. Can't wait to see how Coach Dreamy motivates and
mentors these fellows. It will be good to see people jump back on the bandwagon.
It looks to be a fun season.Go Jazzboys tonight in Las Vegas!!
Way to go Lillard! Best player to come out of Utah in 20 or so years.

Laettner was selected to Dream Team 1 over Shaquille O'neal. Let's
hope they are more right about Hayward than they were about Laettner.Go Jazz!!
@Uteology:"Christian Laettner was selected to Dream Team 1 over
Shaquille O'neal. Let's hope they are more right about Hayward than
they were about Laettner."----That's a poor analogy.
The reasons for putting Laettner on that Olympic team were unabashedly faulty,
and it had little to do with anything other than a token college player was
viewed as necessary on a team of established all star NBA veterans. Laettner
happened to be representative of NCAA champion Duke and fit the requirements of
being one of the most successful college players of his era. He was not even
expected to be a good pro by many experts at that time. It fit the
requirements and had nothing to do with whether he was a good NBA player. He
just so happened to be a more accomplished player than Shaq was at that time. It
is a fact. Everyone knew from the start he was not in a class with the rest of
the Dream Team and would get extremely little playing time on that team.
Hayward's all-around talent and court intelligence is undeniable to the
serious basketball analyst. The only thing he hasn't proven is his ability
to score in the clutch. Two of the top 50 of all time, Pippen and Malone,
developed all-around scoring abilities later in their careers. Perhaps Gordon
will, too. What's exciting me recently is now the Jazz have three top
passers on their team for Snyder's new fast-moving offense, Hayward, Alec
Burks and Dante Exum.

Laettner was selected #3 in the 1992 draft. I agree with you he shouldn't
have been selected on Dream Team 1.
