Chalk up another war, with its destruction, death and suffering, to religion.
Do you see your headline is a little unbalanced. "Rockets fall on
Israel," but "Over 100 killed in Gaza"? How about evening up the
story by saying either:"Over 100 killed in Gaza, None killed in
Israel,"or"Rockets Fall on Israel and Gaza."
@Scientist:I don't think that you know anything about what is going
on.Two Palestinians kidnapped three teenagers hitchhiking from a
settlement near Hebron. One of the teenagers called the police, the
Palestinians panicked and killed the three teenagers and left them in a
field.Israeli politicians went bonkers, each out doing one another
in condemning this and calling for revenge. Netanyahu said, "They are not
like us. We sanctify life, they sanctify death."Six orthodox
Jews went driving through an Arab neighborhood in Jerusalem (not in the occupied
territories, in Israel proper). They tried to kidnap a nine year old boy. He
called for his mother and she beat the kidnapper off. The next day they
returned, kidnapped a 16 year old boy. Took him away, beat him up, poured
gasoline on him and in his mouth and set him on fire.Hate is the
spark that has started this.If you are outraged by this then quit
Hey scientist, ever heard of Stalin? Hitler? History accounts of the biggest
loss of lives comes from the hands of those who despised religion.
Of course Netanyahu is "Brushing off cease fire efforts" he does not
need to pay for his ammunition and equipment. Our tax dollars to the
tune of $3.200,000,000 plus a year for each and every year flow to Israel in the
form of foreign aid.It would not be so bad if we did not need to
borrow this money to give it away.Being that we are their biggest
"bankroller" you would think they would be more amiable to our
Netanyahu's response is criminally childish. It won't stop the bombs
from Gaza, just make things worse.
This is not religion it is genocidal in its nature. Hamas does not say we will
wipe out the jews because of their religion, but because they are jews.
To coin a phrase, "war is hell", nothing was mentioned that the Israel,
arrested and charged the people responsible for killing the Palestinian child,
but not so with the Palestinians as it is the way they are raised and that is to
annihilate the Jews, with no remorse, but with much hoopla.Should we show
favoritism in reporting the deaths of people on a fair and balanced approach or
condemn war for what it is Hell.Either the Palestinians are slow learners,
or have a very big sacrificial gene count in their bodies, otherwise they would
really be best served to negotiate a peace agreement, because those they oppose
may quit showing the tolerance for having their homes and people killed by
random rocket firings, and decide to get serious about retaliating big time.
Why all the attention given to the number of Arabs killed? They started the war,
and Israel has every right to crush Hamas. During the wars America has fought,
nobody ever paid attention to the number of casualties the enemy suffered. In
the case of Hamas, Hamas is the aggressor. Its Charter proclaims its goal of
murdering Jews and destroying Israel -- and they quote the Islamic sacred texts
to justify it. In addition, Hamas makes a point of mixing its military personnel
and weapons with the civilian population -- which is a war crime in itself under
international law which says that Israel has every right to target those areas
from which the rocket attacks are coming. Hamas is committing a double war
crime: 1) they are rocketing civilian areas in Israel; and 2) they are
surrounding their military activities with their own civilian population. This
is what journalists should be writing about, not the number of casualties the
What we have here is vendetta. When non-military and non-command-and-control
become principle targets a major step has been taken away from a just war.
Escalating and pretty indiscriminate retaliation on both sides should be
Three times in the past 30 years the two sides have come close to a peace
agreement but each time the Palestinians have backed out wanting more
concessions from Israel. For example in the 1967 war when the united Arab group
tried to kill or drive all Jews into the Sea the Jews survived and drove back
the attackers and keep Gaza, Jerusalem and the Golan Heights. In one attempt at
peace Israel gave back Gaza and part of Lebanon but that wasn't enough to
gain even recognition that Israel had a right to exist. So Hamas keeps building
its crude rockets hiding them under schools, homes, hospitals connected by
tunnels and trying to get more sophisticated rockets from Syria, Iran, China and
Russia. Much of the money Gaza is given goes into rocket and tunnel making not
to benefit the people. Is there a peaceful solution? Not until rocket
manufacture becomes plow shears.
"We have received deeply disturbing reports that many of the civilian
casualties, including of children, occurred as a result of strikes on
homes," said Navi Pillay, the U.N. high commissioner for human rights.Navi: Look up "Human Shield".
For all those out there saying that they want to wipe out the "jews" you
are wrong, it is Israel they have the beef with, and well they should. Israel is
as much at fault, for their racist and childish behavior as Palestine.
@Abdulameer:"Why all the attention given to the number of Arabs
killed? They started the war, and Israel has every right to crush Hamas.
"Israel started the war. Blockading the Gaza Strip is an act of
war. Hamas has been exercising restraint.
