It's becoming more and more obvious that Mitt Romney was correct in his
opinion beforehand that it would've been better to allow GM to undergo a
protected bankruptcy which then would've allowed restructure from the
ground up. As it is, the bailout for tens of billions of taxpayer
funded dollars that Obama gave GM to help buy his election has allowed
fundamental problems to persist within the company. Very little was resolved. It
also appears that the bailout money will never be fully repaid. We
are finding out that Romney was right about this issue, Russia, and an ongoing
list of other political items. It's too bad we couldn't re-do the
presidential election today with voters eyes more fully open. Mitt would easily
win this time. If not, then this country is in much worse shape than any of us
are now imagining.
This is what happens when you put a bailout Band-Aid on the real problems at GM.
