I am beginning to smell a potential growing rat here. Looking back at the
stories of when Bergdahl was "captured", there seemed to be no doubt
then that the story coming out was that he simply walked off post and ended up
in the hands of his captors. Today we have had on the news several soldiers who
were serving with him that said that Bergdahl in fact left of his own free will,
and was not "captured" per say. And they also claim that efforts to
find him were made and that lives were lost in doing so. Now, maybe all these
guys are for some reason lying publically, and that whole story about Bergdahl
leaving of his own accord is just false rummor. And no one lost their lives in
trying to find him. Maybe we have been given a whole false narative and we
cannot believe any ex-soldiers testimony on this. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. If the
Army/Obama administration somehow whitewash this, no inquiry and or
courtsmartial and the press lets them get away with it..............
It doesn't appear Bergdahl was captured. He went voluntarily.
Hagel is now trying to do damage control concerning yet another Obama
administration debacle. This is the latest in a series of incidents that has the
administration red-faced and on the defensive. Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the
IRS scandal, the Obamacare rollout problems, the VA hospital coverup... and now
this. It's little wonder Obama's approval rating numbers
keep dropping month by month. There is no reason not to believe the soldiers who
served directly with Bergdahl and who are unanimous in their assertions. The
evidence is already and quickly mounting. Obama made a lousy deal.
He turned the 5 most dangerous terrorists in Guantanamo Bay loose to once again
fight against and kill more Americans, while in return we get an American
traitor. This is literally the worst deal ever.
Hagel is playing the fair card. Typical liberal.Any informed person
would know Bergdahl deserted. It was on the news when it happened. He wasn't captured, and went there on his own. Spoke out against our
country.Telling the truth is fair!
Its a shame that Hagel and Obama failed to do ANY homework on this one...With
Hagel declaring he didn't know if any soldiers were killed trying to find
Bergdahl, Obama declaring Bergdahl a Hero and Susan Rice hailing Bergdahl a hero
who served with honor and distinction! Rice also called Bergdahl a hostage who
was captured in battle, while Jay Carney said he was not a hostage but a
prisoner.........Frankly the whole thing makes me want to
throw-up!For Obama to diminish and declare Bergdahl equal to all
soldiers who served with honor and distinction is deplorable and as an American
who is deeply grateful to our real heros who served with honor and distinction,
I SINCERELY APOLOGISE for our irresponsible, annoying president!
Re Worf:So Worf, you just got word from the Pentagon that he did
indeed leave voluntarily? Can you imagine, the nerve of this guy! Been
languishing around some oasis in the desert of Afghnistan, surrounded by
servants feeding him figs and dates for the last five years, while his folks
and the rest of the world were led to believe he was captured! Thank you for
setting the record straight, I knew we could count on you! But maybe, just
maybe, if you might be mistaken, wouldn't it be better to wait until the
Military handles the issue, instead of us civil faux addicts!
If Hagel is a "liberal", then how did he become a Republican senator
from Nebraska? And as for Bergdahl, would it kill us to wait until he actually
comes home from Germany before we start up the witch hunt against him?
Hagel is right. There was a rush to judgment. The Obama administration
rushed to do this deal (perhaps to appease the veterans?) and failed to think
things through. The rescue of Hanoi Jane would not have been a great PR
stunt. Lack of judgment by the White House has left them with a real mesh. This
couldn't happen to a nicer president.
I think this action by the Obama-ites will come back to bite... And the tears
shed by Chuck Hagel only make him look more.... like an immature juvenile.
It's time we had grown up adults lead the country.
What would you expect from a member of the administration. If they don't
fall into lock step with Obama they are turned out to retirement. There have
been several who served with this man who knew exactly what he did. Even the
president is now dissing them so what would you expect Hagel to do?
We will turn ANYTHING to a political hate fest against President Obama. So far
there are not enough facts to make any kind of informed judgement. If
Bergdahl's parents have been trying to get his release for the last five
years from a Congress who has worked hard at building a "do nothing"
reputation, that didn't work. We don't know if Bergdahl walked away.
We don't know if Bergdahl suffered from PTSD. We don't know if anyone
died capturing the five Taliban who were released. We don't know if anyone
died trying to find him. We do know that Bergdahl spent 5 years as a POW. And
for all one know, we are going to condemn Bergdahl and Pres. Obama? Not me.
The media and the Republicans have a bad track record of impeding this
LittleStream:"The media and the Republicans have a bad track record of
impeding this President."The bad track record is that of Obama
and his administration.I watched the entire hearing and
couldn't believe what Hagel and his lawyer friend with him were saying. I
almost threw a chair at the TV. Of course it's critical to get our
soldiers back from captivity. But at what cost? Freeing five of the most
vicious terrorists in the world is too much especially when the soldier in
question walked away from his post. And he did walk away according to his
fellow platoon members and other available evidence... some of which the errant
soldier provided. And what about the law that Obama signed requiring
the Congress to be notified of enemy swaps 30 days in advance? Well, Hagel
tells us that the Constitution gives the president authority to violate laws at
his pleasure... including the law requiring 30 day notification. Well, Hagel,
the Constitution tells us that the president has to 'take care that the
laws are faithfully executed.' Doing otherwise means he's in
violation. God help us!
