Democrats have a strong relationship with the high-tech, entrepreneurial creatives across the country. Obama's push for high-tech solutions for society -- from renewable energy to energy efficiency to cleantech to security to social media to Web sites for ObamaCare (though the roll out was problematic to say the least!) -- places the Democrats at an advantage for modern business development and youth, while the GOP tends to stick with the aging, old-school industries of coal, oil, natural gas, etc. (e.g., Koch brothers).

Because fossil fuels continue to dwindle in use and favor in this country, the GOP's relationship with industry in general in the country is threatened. If the GOP wants to win national elections and move forward with modern business, it needs to reach out to high-tech.
