...and the GOP gets dinged for a comment about binders full of women. The
media double standard is shameful.
What a stupid period of our history........ and "Say no to
Bo"..... are you actually insinuating that the press didn't have a
grand old time with the Clinton story. Either you are too young to remember, or
you have really selective memory, but this is all the press ran with for week
after week. Give me a break that the media somehow has a double standard here.
You're just choosing not to remember history as it happened. It
was stupid, embarrassing, and behavior unfitting the office. But it wasn't
illegal or impeachable. Unfortunately.
Least we forget, the charge to impeach Clinton for lying was lead by
conservative darling Newt Gingrich. During the impeachment proceedings Gingrich
was having an affair with a woman on his staff, cheating on his second wife with
the woman who would become his third. Adding insult to injury, he cheated on his
first wife with the woman who would be the second. Why do
Republicans vilify Clinton while ignoring the sins of Gingrich?
It is amazing that one of the heros of the current Democrat Party is a guy with
this kind of low moral values. That says a lot about todays current Democrats.
@SCfan 6:44 a.m. May 7, 2014It is amazing that one of the heros of
the current Democrat Party is a guy with this kind of low moral values. That
says a lot about todays current Democrats.-----------------The exact same thing is true of the curent Republicans, starting but not
limited to Gingrich. Neither is better than the other.
Furry1993Gingrich is not held in Republican circles to nearly the
standard of reverence that Bill Clinton is. This would be like Richard Nixon
having been esteemed after his failures of character in Watergate. He was not.
No, the Republicans are certainly not perfect, but I doubt most Republicans
would want as its standard bearer a person with Bill Clintons past. And
Remember, when Nixon was heading toward impeachment for breaking the law, the
Republican leadership from Congress went up to the White House and told Nixon he
would lose the fight, and should resign for the good of the nation. He did.
When Clinton broke the law and was impeached, the Democrats rallied around him.
Ironic that was, because if the Democrats had told Clinton to resign or lose in
the Senate, Albert Gore Jr. would have been President of the United States for
the period that George Bush was. Wouldn't you like to have a do over now??
Clinton was not impeached for his affair. He was impeached for lying while
great liberal standard bearer. bubba is all a woman could want and a liberal
party drool for.
To "UtahBlueDevil" the affarir wasn't the reason for the
impeachment. It was when Clinton lied under oath.
Stormwalker,Newt did not lie to a federal judge about it – that is
the difference.liberals have such low regard for the law they think
it is OK to lie to a judge. the dem senate exonerating slick for lying to a
judge is evidence of this.
Lost in DC, no it is not okay to lie to a federal judge. But be that as it may,
what Clinton did was not impeachable. "liberals have such low
regard for the law they think it is OK to lie to a judge."This
is funny, especially right after the support of the criminal Cliven Bundy by
conservatives. I mean, good heavens, conservatives were supporting people that
aimed guns at fedeal agents. Talk about low regard for law.
Compare and contrast Nixon, and Clinton. The media is bias.
Is there anything a liberal can do, to upset the people of America?
The LDS libs on these pages are still carrying the water for Clinton. I'm
stunned at the lack of intellectual honesty here. Deflection is the game from
the Left. No accountability. No honesty. If any sort of admition,
it's always with a but statement with a derogatory remark on a Republican.
Let's be honest ok. Clinton was wrong in what he did. Clinton
lied about what he did. Clinton was impeached for lying, not what he did with
Lewinsky. Clinton preyed on an young lady. Democrats did not denounce Clinton
for his actions. The media did not denounce Clinton for his actions.Democrats and the press demonized the women Clinton preyed upon. Anything you
say to the contrary is not being honest at all. Time to tell the truth.
Uh. . . @Charles, I think what Pres Clinton did was wrong. I have never
demonized Monica Lewinski. The media very much denounced Bill Clinton for his
actions. Are you too young to remember? Truth is there were nonstop, vicious,
attacks on the Clintons by the media before Bill Clinton ever stepped into the
Oval Office, and those attacks by the media continue to this day. The truth is, what he did was not an impeachable act. Nonetheless, even after
he was impeached he wasn't convicted. He did not prey on Monica Lewenski,
she was an adult and consented. The truth is, Republicans use this
to attack Hillary Clinton, and that is disgusting. They will try to
"demonize" a woman because her husband cheated on her. That's what
needs to be denounced. And that is what the truth is. And if you are being
honest, you know that is the truth.
@mark: Thanks for your opinion but the facts contradict what you claim. I'm
plenty old enough to have lived through the Clinton whitewash by the press. Nice try to spin though. You proved my point perfectly. btw, Hillary was
right in the middle of it lying for her Bill. Vast right wing conspiracy ring a
bell? Hillary was behind the attacks on the ladies Bill had his trysts with. You
need a different news source.
No, sir, I don't need a different news source (I use many) you need to step
out of the bubble. But which of my claims, exactly, do you think are
contradicted by the "facts"? The media attacked Bill Clinton
non stop through his administration, rabidly and vocally. You say you are old
enough to remember this, yet how are you not aware of it?Hillary
Clinton was the wife that was cheated on, just as I claimed. Lewinski was a consenting adult. The Republicans have, and will,
try to attack her because of her husbands dalliances. Bill Clinton
was not convicted. All of these are facts, they are in the record,
and they are not my opinion. So again, what do you think is
contradicted by the facts? The closest I got to opinion was the
claim that Clinton's offenses did not rise to the level of impeachable
offense. And, indeed, he was not removed from office.
