These poor, poor millionaires. If they truly wanted to stage a protest, they
would refuse to play for the man and refuse any sort of paycheck from him. Now
that would make a statement.
Totally disagree. That would be a childish thing to do.I credit Doc
Rivers with acknowledging that action was discussed and considered. The Team is
making a statement that, although they work for Sterling, they do not work FOR
him. The play for themselves and their fans. They've worked hard to get
where they are right now.The proper response, in my opinion, is for
everyone who does not have an ironclad contract for next season to leave when
they finish playing this year. And no free agents should sign to play for them
next year.Hit him where it hurts - in the pocketbook.
As much as I resent what this bigot said, I still would defend his right to say
stupid, insensitive things. Where is the outrage from the left? It seems
to have lost its voice since Sterling is one of their own. I guess it
doesn't fit their "Republicans hate minorities" meme.
Come on man. Of course he has the right to say stupid, insensitive things.
Nobody is trying to take that away, they are just saying that what he said is
wrong and totally inappropriate. Why is it that whenever anybody says something
offensive and there is backlash, that people cry foul and that the liberals are
trying to take away free speech. People can say whatever they want to, but they
are not exempt from the consequences or uproar that their comments might create.
Sterling is a delusional, narcissistic man who represents the NBA by owning one
of its franchises. The NBA should force Donald Sterling to sell the Clippers
and make sure that he doesn't ever own a sports franchise in America again.
jsgolfpro: "Sterling is a delusional, narcissistic man...The NBA should
force Donald Sterling to sell the Clippers and make sure htat he doesn't
ever own a sports franchise in ..." you said America but you obviously
don't mean. Actions do have consequences but saying something stupid
should not bar you from making a living. In fact, your labeling of Sterling as
delusional is offensive and maybe you should be barred from any future
employment in America.
When you've played a whole season and put yourself in a situation to go to
a Championship, you don't let an ignorant guy stand in your way.The best way to get even with Sterling would be to win a Championship and not
allow him to be apart of the celebration. Trust me, Sterling will be forced to
sell the Clippers.PLAY!
