You can term it however you want. Mid major vs majorLittle

I would be on Selection Sunday that ESPN puts up a graphic that shows the number
of "Mid-Majors" who received at large bids. There will also be a
discussion about which "Mid-Major" poses the biggest threat for a deep
run in the tournament. The "Mid-Major" is not dead, but very
Chris BBYU has a chance to be "in"Weber State has
chance to be "in"Utah State has a chance to be "in"Utah is out of the tournament and will be sitting home. The 4th best team in
the state. Maybe 5th if you consider Lone Peak HS.I wish all the
local teams well.
majmajor-So you're saying if UVU wins the WAC and gets into the
tourney and BYU misses the tourney then that proves that UVU is the better team?
lolHow about this logic,Utah beat BYU, who beat USU, who
beat WSU, therefore Utah is the best team in the state this year.
@ Chris B"Either way, Utah is IN and all other Utah schools are
OUT"It's a good thing BYU is not a Utah school then. But
your wrong on Utah being in. If any Utah school is in it's UVU maybe Weber,
so 2 at best. BYU will be in but they're not a Utah school.
Magna, The UofU administration was scared to play any of schools
supported by the Utah Taxpayers. The administration doesn't have the
courage of its players. The UofU administration is admitting it is the 4th best
college team in the state. I wish the team well. The administration needs a new
job.BYU and UofU split the games. The UofU administration forfeited
all of the other instate games. That makes them 1 and 5 (including UVU).
@majmajorThat logic *might* work if you assume that the 66 best
teams in the country make the tournament. They don't. If you truly
believe that, you don't know anything about college basketball.
Brave Sir Robin, All you can do is a personal attack because you
can't defend the UofU administration for failing to play other Tax Payer
supported universities in Utah? Weak..As a Utah Taxpayer, I am
offended by a cowardly UofU administration not supporting other Utah Tax Payer
supported schools. The rest of Utah as well as the UofU's fans should be
also. They refused to play Weber State and Utah State because they would have
likely beat the Utes.Again, I support all the local teams and
players. The UofU administration should develop some courage or leave.
According to teamrankings . com, in order of the rank of the conference, here
are the probabilities of making the NCAA tournament for the Utah schools, after
Saturday's games:School (autobid%, at large%, total%, most
likely seed)Utah: (3.1%, 5.9%, 9.0%, 12)Utah State: (1.6%,
0.0%, 1.6%, 14)BYU: (27.1%, 60.8%, 87.8%, 11)Utah Valley: (8.1%,
0.0%, 8.1%, 15)Weber State: (64.5%, 0.0%, 64.5%, 16)Southern Utah:
(0.0%, 0.0%, 0.0%, -)Utah doesn't have a great probability of
getting in the NCAA, but to claim Utah State has a chance and Utah does not is
incorrect. Utah has a higher probability, albeit still small, of winning their
conference tournament and has a slim at large bid possibility, which Utah State
does not have.BTW, congratulations to Weber State and Utah Valley
which formally clinched their respective conference season championships on
Saturday. Weber State did so with a loss by Northern Colorado to Portland State,
while Utah Valley clinched it with a win on Saturday.
