The state of New York advertises tax free zones and other incentives to lure
businesses and jobs. The city of New York under new Mayor di Blasio has done
just the opposite. Strange dichotomy.
This is not a new concept. Why have so many financial firms moved operations to
Utah, creating a "Wall Street of the West"? It is because of Gov.
Herbert's tax incentives. That's one problem with "state
sovereignty" - it creates an environment where the main interest is poaching
the businesses from other states. No net job creation, just employee transfer
from one state to another.
