I think that half the americans will watch or follow the Olympics is a bold
expectation by US commercial and business related companies. There
is no pleasure in watching replays of Olympics that are edited and cut and
reformatted to fit a few designated time slots featuring few events and Olympic
performers between long commercials. I'd rather watch the news reel replays
of the germane olympics of 1938(?) than current events where skills are
secondary and artificial enhancements falsify true skills.The last
time I watched an Olympic events was in 2002. The long commercials and limited
information of the events has made it boring to be interested in the sports now.
Since they have allowed professionals to compete in the games it has lost its
meaning as an armatures skills. Paid professional athletes are not worthy
contenders for the medals and demeans those who strive on their own skills
without selling products and their souls.Its a bad time for athletes
of commercialized Olympic venues. They have become rigged and outdated sports.
Why bother to run down the Olympic Games if you haven't watched them in 12
years? Sure, there's plenty of money involved, but most of it ends up, not
with the athletes, but with advertisers we hear praised as "job
creators" in any other context. No one forces 2Cents or anyone else to
watch, so it's like pizza toppings - not worth debating.
