* Common Core* Stimulus Package--shovel ready jobs* Health Care
Reform* Solyndra* Benghazi* Mitt Romney is greedy, and
hasn't paid taxes for ten years.* Cutting the deficit in half*
Not losing your Health Plan* Saving $2500 a year on health insuranceDoes anyone see a pattern here?
Educational decisions based on the constitution was suppose to be run by each
individual state. The federal government was to have hands off. Also, if you
really want to be nervous about the constitution and how it is being taught to
our children, check the standard core curriculum and see how much it is loosing
in interpretation. It is time for the NEA to stand up and earn their money by
telling the federal government to "STAND DOWN"
The content standards came out with a lot of educators ready to scrutinize and
be very critical. When we saw well-thought out standards that made sense, well
you have to give credit where credit is due. In math, going deep rather than
drowning children in kindergarten on up with too many concepts too soon; which
is what the countries ahead of us in math scores have been doing for years!!!!
Just makes sense and strange bedfellows.
Federal Government and Education? Anyone suggesting more federal government
control over education needs to get their head examined. Has anyone noticed
their record lately, as in the last 75 years? Yes, by all means, lets just keep
giving them more money and power-not! Come on,people! Common Core is an insult
to any thinking person that values liberty and believes that he/she has an iota
of common sense. How does apply the same standards in Washington County with
some in the middle of an L.A. barrio? Come on, people!
Common Core = Improved Standards = Better educated children = Good for
UTAH!!!I support increased efforts to better educate our children. I
support standardized testing that helps teachers understand where they need to
revisit their classroom curriculum. I support improved college and job
readiness... I support the Common Core.
If people don't want Common Core standards, they need to quit complaining
about America being ranked so badly in education. You see, the countries that
outperform us have very involved government-run education systems and when
people complain about the results of our hodge podge system, they are
inadvertently inviting federal intrusion into education. Just some
food for thought for the people who need to learn the maxim: "Be careful
what you wish for, you just might get it."
@worf,Too bad it isn't a perfect world; perhaps if we went back to
the good old days of Bush. But, maybe better yet is that we realize it
isn't the problem with the individual but more a problem with the system
that is usurped by Wall Street and corrupted. Maybe it is time for an overhaul,
Parents need to get educated on Common Core and what it really means for their
children. It is far more than "standards". It is required cirriculum
and indoctrination into a certain social agenda. Also, most of the materials
discourage children form asking theri parents for help. The last thing Common
Core wants is parental participation. Parents may have different values that
will reduce the effectiveness of the indoctrination. If you are a
parent and are blindly allowing your child to go to public school to be
educated, you are risking their future. Get involved and do some research on
the real powers behind common core.
