The Democrats just gave trial lawyers an early Christmas present. Fake
discrimination law suits will now clog the courts of our nation.
Were the courts clogged after the passage of racial anti-discrimination laws?
Were the courts clogged after the passage of gender anti-discrimination laws? And remember, more than 20 states already have laws against
orientation-based discrimination. Have their courts been clogged?Your claim has no basis in fact.Incidentally --There's a very interesting article in the NYT about this bill. The
headline is "Senate Bill on Bias Against Gays Finds Support in
Mormons".It notes that Mormon legislators provided crucial
support for this bill. Those included Harry Reid (I didn't
know he was Mormon!), who said: “People shouldn’t be able to fire
them because of their sexual orientation any more than you can fire them if
they’re Mormon".Other Mormons involved included Orrin
Hatch, Gordon H. Smith (a former senator who convinced Hatch), and Dean Heller.
Out of 7 Mormon Senators, **five** of them voted FOR the bill. The
article also reminds us that "the church publicly backed a provision in Salt
Lake City in 2009 that extended many of the same workplace protections as the
Senate bill. "
