Saturated fats are the best for you? Is this a typo?
Its nice to know that 7,000 of us a year will now live forever. I hope I am one
of the lucky ones.
I have a few questions of my own:Why is government involved in this? How much does it cost to run a program like this? How reliable is the
science on this? If a new study refutes the old study (like it did with sodium
recently) will government allow it back? Are the alternatives safe?
(Remember the side effects of Cyclamate and Olestra.)My point is
that unintended consequences creep in, especially when you deal with junk
science and government regulations.
I think they should let the free market decide, but force those selling trans
fats to identify it clearly to the customer, and put warnings like cigarettes.
That way those of us who don't believe it's another conspiracy to make
us healthier, can choose to avoid obesity and heart problems. And those who want
to smoke cigars while eating from the golden food group can continue to defy
sound science by simple calling it junk.
Look for more Nanny State decisions as government decides what is healthy for us
under the guise that they are insuring our health now.
"Say No" is right. When we allowed the government to take charge of
healthcare, we allowed them to regulate anything related to healthcare.
wow you dont get the idea about this. it is a man made molecule that is bad for
you because your body does not know what to do with it. they used to say smoking
was good for you too. silly antigoverment talk is just that.this stuff is bad
and invented by the nazis in world war 2. just saiyng negative things all the
time helps no one. look it up, and you will understand how bad it is margerine
is worse than butter for you. pertussis can kill you. people that dont get shots
are spreading this in utah now.
@1ketI looked it up. Mayo Clinic website says margarine is better for you
than butter.I'm sure you can find another website that says just the
opposite. That's the whole point. Science today isn't
black-and-white. Government is making our choices for us.If I believe
butter is better for me, I'll buy butter. I don't want government
telling me how to eat. I can read the research myself and make my own
choices. It seems like this debate raged in a galaxy far, far away among
spirits choosing agency.
