Okay, taking trans fats out of ones diet is a healthy option. But
shouldn't that be a personal decision? To take the responsibly to eat
healthier or take the consequences of not? It shouldn't be government
mandated. It's getting to the point that when I hear that America is a
free country I cringe. Our rights and our sense of personal responsibility are
being whittled away at alarming rates.
Of all the rants for greater "freedom", the plea on behalf of trans fats
might be the strangest. Perhaps in the future there will be black market
"fat boys" who secretly store it, then sell the stuff at a huge markup
to people who can't stop consuming it. Would THAT meet the definition of
Mark BThen why haven't they banned cigarettes, other forms of tobacco
Let's see. They tried banning alcohol and it resulted in the meteoric
growth of organized crime. And tobacco users would start an armed revolt if they
were denied their smokes. I just can't see trans fats as something worth
fighting for, but perhaps you do.
I definitely see more government control than we already have worth fighting
