While living in Germany working for the Army, I gave a young Army Specialist a
ride to Grafenwoehr. He asked if my coworker was Jewish and I said yes. He
thought it a shame, nice person who is denied final salvation. This is what his
Church taught him.I believe any man or woman who lives a good, sharing
life, helps others and does no harm is destined to a marvelous final reward. I
do not care if you are active in a religion or not. People speak of God, and I
ask "which one?" Many cultures believe in a deity that gives examples of
a good life. Read the Pope's "Disciples of the Lord and not
ideology".This Pope has me wondering if I should go back to Mass. It
has been awhile and there is a void in my life since leaving, maybe this is it.
The sincerity and integrity of any religion comes into question when said
religion spend inordinate amounts of money to build extravagant and ornate
buildings. The perceived excess is what paints a less than flattering and humble
picture. Many religions have this perception issue.
