Nice reference to Brock for an article mainly about the Kansas City area. I get to be involved with some of the entrepreneurial activities in Utah county. I think they are putting something in the water because they have a pandemic. There are a lot of young people who have great ideas and (more importantly) the will to dive in. These kids will soon be the economic engine of this state. Lets hope the government stays out of the way.

Many entrepreneurs succeed because they simply don't understand how hard it is to make whatever product they wish to make and sell. They dive in, flounder, and then discover that something, somewhere, somehow gets traction in the market so they capitalize on that, even if it's radically different from their original plan. The result can be one of those "accidental empires" that you read about.

RBB, since you "get to be involved with some of the entrepreneurial activities in Utah county", I have one favor to ask: Please don't call and try to convince me to be in your downline.

In other words, I hope that starting MLM's selling snake oil is not the "economic engine" of this state.
