Russia isn't intolerant. They've said that simply being a
born a certain way or claiming to be born a certain way is not illegal.Only pushing behavior that they have deemed immoral is illegal.Frankly its a very fair approach.
@Chris B --"Russia isn't intolerant."At one
protest, a Duma (government) official was seen and heard as he egged on a
policeman who was beating a gay protestor. He exhorted the policeman to
"beat him well!" and to cut off body parts. At other
protests, PRIESTS have led mobs attacking the protestors. And although the
protestors were the ones being attacked, THEY were the ones who got arrested.Another (non-gay) protestor (protesting a different issue) has recently
been sentenced to involuntary psychiatric "treatment" simply for the sin
of daring to protest at all.One Moscow man recently violated and
beat to death a gay man, simply because the gay man dared to admit that he was
gay. The murderer then bragged about the killing to a reporter **on the air**,
declaring that it was perfectly okay to murder the man "because he was
gay".And you claim that Russia isn't intolerant.Seriously??
@chris bSo simply finding ti "Immoral" is enough? Should I be able
to push for laws to ban the opinions on these threads I find to be immoral?
After all I do not want my child to be exposed to such things.
Chris B- I see what your saying -It's basiclly what the Russians reasoning
is according to them-but they would have to have shown a real history of
cracking down on immorality in all its forms for it to have real credibility
As long as Olympic atheletes don't try to use the venue for some social or
political statement, who cares what their orientation is. If they do, and get
away with it, it would and should open the door for any other special interest
group, religious or otherwise to have as much of a say publically, whether it is
pro or anti anything. Fair enough?
@ContrariusererYour examples are of peoples bad behaviors and not of
@truth --"Your examples are of peoples bad behaviors and not of
the law."That's because the word "tolerance"
applies to people, not to laws.
