What a champion Elizabeth is for having the courage to publish her "nine
months of hell."While depressing, I'm grateful for the
insight, because it brings to light areas that I need to address with my
children in the case that they are ever in a (god forbid) similar predicament.
I need to teach my children that the majority of predators are not capable of
killing their family, and to reach out to other people whenever there is a
chance despite threatnings. There are signs to look for and ways to classify
the type of predator to know what they are and are not capable of, and in most
cases, it's worth taking the chance to be rescued.
Even to this day, I get chocked up when I read of her being found and when she
was asked if she was Elizabeth Smart and her reply. Elizabeth you are such an
example to me, you show that no one should or needs to get bogged down with
The DNews need the AP for a story on Elizabeth Smart? Sad.
What she went through was traumatic. I believe what her parents whent through
was worse. Before I heard this story, I did invite a homeless person
to my house to work. He refused, but no more invites from me.
The lady is a hero and example to many.
I am very glad Ms. Smart was able to write this work. This is a story that needs
to be told, especially the exposure of Mitchell as the con artists that he was.
Able to fool people at all levels.
