I am sure this is designed to make the partial shutdown look as bad as possible,
but this is one of the successes of the shutdown! The pres and his vice are
going to curtail pandering to special interests. What could be better!!!
I wonder if Biden really wanted to have to go pander to that group anyway. You
know the kind of PC things he would have had to say in order to please them.
Biden may actually be thinking about running for President again himself, and
the less he says that can be used against him, the better. This shutdown could
just be a good excuse.
@SCfan --"This shutdown could just be a good excuse."Not likely.Biden recently said: "A lot of people
criticized me for speaking out, not long ago, about gay marriage. I could not
remain silent any longer. It's the civil rights of our day. It's the
issue of our day."This was at a fundraiser in IOWA, just a week
or two ago.He was also strongly pro-same-sex marriage on national TV
(Meet the Press) in 2012. He "came out" in support of gay marriage
before Obama did.
SCFAN It is hard to believe that if he really wanted to speak there
he couldn't have arranged it. There is more to this than meets the eye.
Just saying a stupid statement like "It is the issue of our day", is
enough reason for him to quit speaking. No more feet will fit in his mouth as
someone told little harry reid that biden "might"be gay. I think it was
the same guy that told him Mitt didn't pay taxes.
I think you all are right, no really, I mean LGBT rights are such a hot potato
know who would dare speak out on favor of them? Oh that's right pretty much
everyone but the most extreme far right.
campaign fundraising is not supposed to be supported by taxpayer funds, so the
shutdown should not affect this. Does the cancellation of the
fundraising visit then mean biden was breaking federal law by using taxpayer
monies for partisan fundraising?
