According to very recent news reports this morning from other US news
sources...This new proposal is in the works between the US and Russia to
rid Syria of it's chemical weapons. We Americans are grateful for
those with cooler heads who take their finger off the trigger.
Hope and change has come a long way since Obama first proposed that concept when
he ran for President as a community organizer who sold his concept to a gullible
eager public that did not realize that change is not always for the better.
After Obama was elected he boldly asserted that the "transformation of
America" was about to begin. Regrettably the transformation turned out to be
against the Constitution into a changed era in which one person took power over
the Congress and Supreme Court. Change came but not for the better but from bad
to worse. The Bush II chickens of the two preemptive wars came home to roost,
and as usual, each succeeding President seems to outdo the errors of previous
administrations. Now Obama himself hopes for change when friend Vladimir Putin
seems to have bailed him out of his self-created Middle East and Syria maze and
labyrinthine ways, but unfortunately, the Hound of Heaven turns out to be the
master KGB Chief, Vladimir Putin, not exactly the lesser of two evils. Out of
the frying pan into the fire?
The right wing now has to get more creative to bash the president.
Again with the "Vacationgate"? No one else tries to sell this particular
line, so the Far Right must be running short of things to hate. Mr. M. says the
president is a tyrant, and the next shouter will say he's a timid leader.
You guys can't even get your attacks straight.
obama....hoping? hope is gone and only change will happen when barry leaves
This President has been along for the ride on his pro media express at the cost
of our reputation and standing in this world from the poorest to the richest
country. His leaders have been similar in tactics of the community
organizer with hope crushed as change is what took us down for the Nobel Peace
Prize for a President that hadn't even started his tenure except
campaigning. His teleprompter makes it so his advisers have all the
say in what he says except for his momentary blips that come out without a
teleprompter. His working knowledge from his staff on the chemical
weapons convention is lacking on the playing field with the head protester of
all leading the band as an anti-military Secretary of State.
Gee... I would've thought you all would be happier that not only are we
likely to avoid military conflict (something you all wanted) but we're
likely to get Syria's chemical weapons too (something I presume you all
wanted just not at the cost of military strikes/troop involvement).
As a veteran from the Army and Air Force, I would not propose going into this
type of country with it's various power structures of a civil war.
However, however, having worked with the Chemical Weapons Convention and the
inspectors from the UN's OPCW, that treaty that President Clinton signed
and passed by the Congress is a very effective tool for eradicating chemical
weapons. However, there are strict requirements of all State Parties and Libya
was under duress when it joined the ranks in 2003 timeframe but this is a
completely different circumstance than Ghadafi had. Ghadafi had the Pan Am
flight problem and then the Iraqi war II started and he was afraid of the
actions he would have against him.Asaad, on the other hand wants to
continue his power structure and gain some favor from the international
community. The CWC treaty is too stringent and logistically almost impossible
for weapons in separated and remote locations to be destroyed in a timely manner
with the amount of weapons he has and with a probably insecure method of
storage. Does Asaad contain rebels while insuring safety of the
inspectors involved in the process? The President doesn't plan.
