Manziel is a punk, for sure. But he is an extremely talented punk at a big-time
school. If the coach showed some guts and benched him for the Alabama game,
he'd get fired. No one is brave enough to step in and intervene, not even
his own parents. With all these enablers, Johnny will remain an irresponsible
punk until it destroys him.
The first weekend save today's games is in the books.Observations about Western teams:Oregon State has now lost twice
to FCS teams in three years. Was last year's team an aberration? Utah
SHOULD beat OSU in a high scoring affair. Washington State is no
longer an easy game for the Utes particularly because its on the road late in
the season. The Utes likely lose that one.Colorado is slightly
improved. Utes will be favored.SDSU also face-planted against an
FCS team.SUU had the best win beating a DI South Alabama squad.BYU's O-line was undisciplined.
Manziel is just a reincarnation of Jim McMahon BYU fans in both his antics and
style of play. Short memories...
eagleLOL at your BYU-hating made up "memories"... I watched
every game of McMahon's college career and, although Jim exhibited some of
those antics in the pros, Jim NEVER exhibited the type of antics you're
suggesting he did in college. McMahon was as competitive as they come, but he
was respectful and listened to his coaches, even when he didn't always
agree with them.
It's always interesting to hear the opinions of objective outsiders in the
Deseret News. According to the author, John Feinstein, "BYU is
hardly a power, but it is a solid team year in and year out."For
what it's worth, I believe that is a very accurate assessment of the
Cougars. And unfortunately, no, I'm afraid Utah isn't any
Enablers, that is a good way to describe the people surrounding stars isn't
it? Miley's mom and dad, set no limits on her because they couldn't.
They had given control over to her managers years ago. It amazes me that stars
can be seen in clubs drinking even though they are underage, and no one says
anything, but we expect that these kids will obey all rules as they mature? If
you don't set limits early on, how will or can you expect the little
darlings to obey any rules as they get older. Manziel is a product of his
environment. He feels entitled. What he really needs is to be taken to the Wood
