doesn't Jones' plan call for a more regressive tax, taxing more those
who can least afford it? socking it to large families?
Barbara,How could we have more equal opportunity for education than we
have?EVERY child is allowed to go to school. Every child is
REQUIRED to go to school. We don't exclude anybody from school, regardless
of income, race, nationality. We have equal access to education. Now... IF you are talking about "Equal MONEY"... now that's a
different story. But if your talking about "Equalization" (meaning $$$
Equalization I assume) and "Equal Money for all"... just say it! But
don't pretend you're talking about "equal education
opportunity" when you're really talking about "equal money".I know some people think Education is all about $$$, but I don't
agree. You can give students a better education without more $$$, and you can
have more $$$ and not give a better education.IMO... Equal education
OPPORTUNITY and an excellent education for every child, is a worthy goal.
"Equalization" (meaning redistributing the $$$) should NOT be our first
priority.Equalization of $$$ is one thing (but not "THE
Thing"). Quality of education is the goal. Rural areas and urban areas
have different expenses, concerns, and solutions. "Equalization" (of
$$$) doesn't necessarily resolve all issues.
