Van Noy and Hoffman will long be remembered as being incapable of beating their
rival.Utah soon will have 2 4-0 career SWEEPS over byu in the last
15 years.Do you know how far back you have to go to get the last 4-0
streaks of byu over Utah. My, how the times have changed!
A first string byu corner is typically not very good(see any in the NFL?)A second string byu corner would be pretty bad.And now
they're playing starting 3rd string corners?Wow, offenses are
going to light these guys up!Can't wait!
I know byu has had several corners go down with injuries, but it's still on
Bronco for not caring about this position. When was the last time
Bronco had a great corner(and by great I don't mean 3rd team all MWC)?Bronco apparently doesn't think speed and athleticism are important
at the corner position, even though any football coach would argue with that.So as sad as I feel for the hurt guys, it's your coach's fault
for not caring about the corner position, ever. Receivers are going
to have career days against these byu corners!LOL
I notice Ross Apo is listed behind Skyler Ridley. Hopefully with Anae's up
tempo offense, we'll still get to see a lot of Apo catching deep passes.
I'm looking forward to seeing a big jump in Apo's role in the offense
in 2013.And let's hope the cornerbacks all stay healthy.
I'd really like to see Dallin Leavitt and Michael Wadsworth play well too.
Mike Hague & Sam Lee will be returning soon so the CB position will get
better/deeper. Other than QB, all these positions will see lots of playing time
for everyone on the 2 deep to keep them fresh, so Apo will see plenty of action,
as well as Mitch Matthews. Next yr is going to be ridiculous at the wide out
position...two 6'6 recievers with 4.5 speed on the outside (Mathews &
Kurtz). This year the receivers are really going to shine, as well as the RBs.
Saturday is taking way too long to get here!
BYU's CBs don't need to beat NFL quality receivers, they only need to
beat inexperienced college receivers (e.g. Univ of Utah quality receivers). And remember, BYU's CB have been practicing against near NFL
quality receivers for most of fall camp already, so they already know how to
defend against a strong passing attack. Bronco has done an
exceptional job turning a weakness into a strength. It will be fun to watch
opponents' offensive coordinators try to pick on the secondary, only to be
picked off time after time.LOL!
Depth chart looks good. I was surprised to see Friel not listed as the starter
BYU will never beat the U again. With our superior coaching staff, facilities
and recruiting, we are will quickly surpass everything that the y brings to the
table. The PAC 12 logo on our helmets shows why our two deep is head above heals
I must say LOL to this chart. I just cannot help commenting on this article
multiple times in succession. We are about to beat the little
brothers four times in a row. How does it feel to be 0-4 against the best team
in the state. At everything btw.Our men are rearing to go. Byu 5U of U 56Write it down in the day planner cuz your
going to be able to set your watch by our touchdowns.
There is a reason why Coach Whitt is so reserved in practices. It is quiet
dignity. He knows that he does not need any slogans or mottos to win
games in the PAC 12. In 5 years, the PAC 12 Utes will be a household name that
everyone knows. Our offense is going to light these byu corners up
like a gas barel on the corner. I easily predict Tavis Wilson to throw for 400
yards 5 tTD.
Lol so funny. The Utes jv team could play down a men and still beatn byu. Why
even play our starters and risk getting them hurt? It really would not surprise
me if Coach just plays a lot of underclass men to give them some practice
playing against a WaC team. Space for added effect.Byu
5Uofu 57. Mark tat down in red ink.
I watched the PAC 12 network for several games over the week end. These were
meaningful games--not one Utah game was shown. And during the breaks not one
Utah athlete was profiled. So Chris B can keep strutting his empty wagon
syndrome but until the Utes do something worthwhile in the PAC 12 they will
still continue to be ignored.
Every one of our number "2"s would start on any other team in the
Gotta love ChrispB's posts. Subtle but effective. Highlight the
Chris (or any one of your facsimiles)Why don't you follow your
coach and provide us all with "quite dignity" on your posts. "
"Space for added effect."Brilliant!
This has been a wonderfully entertaining thread to read.
DNews - How about a new bylaw for the comments - only one post per article per
day, even if someone has multiple monikers, pretending to be different people
from SLC, OK or Michigan. Seven comments, that I don't even read, from the
same person takes away from legit commentors who make valid points, even if they
are different than mine.Love the two deep. I have no doubt that Fua
was brought in as the starting OLB to help with the corners. I think he's
a little better in passing situations than Hadley, who can make an impact from
either ILB or OLB. Can't wait for Saturday!
Rice Eccles Stadium is going to be selling oxygen because the Utes will be so
breath taking to watch. You will not know what hits you when our bus
rolls in to that town down south. It will be like typhoon cyclone
hurricane all rapped into one. With an oxygen tank.Go
Utes. Go Utes. Go Utes.
Yes, I commonly take oxygen with me while swimming slowly along the bottom of
the PACific Ocean. Good marketing on the part of RES if that is true.
CrispBFunny stuff, man.You forgot to mention how much you love
your "prestigious" membership in the "prestigious" PAC12.
I am excited to see the holes have been filled and the depth chart has capable
and prepared people to fill the holes. I read up on the Virginia roster and it
was interesting to note that none of their veterans were top performers last
year. The best thing Coach London has done is bring in excellent coaches to
try and change the culture. Will it be enough to go against mostly veteran
players who have experience, especially in the skill positions? That's why
they play the games.I do have a serious question for other postersHave any of you considered reporting abuse on those who post off topic and
with disruptive intent. Let's all try it.
Interesting that Christopher B (must want everyone to know he is a guy) copied
and pasted several of his posts from posts on previous articles. Maybe he has
run out of fodder. No matter, since he will not be posting on any more BYU
articles after the BYU/Utah game.
So Hague has gone from LB to S to CB. Hmmm...He's a ball player but CB
might be a bit of a stretch...
BYU will remain the ultimate standard of Utah football.
CrispB-Coach Whit is so reserved that hr lost to Utah State last
year, went 5-7, missed going to a bowl game and has failed miserably his first
two years in the PAC12...yep so reserved that if he fails this year he will be
gone! BTW, two of the three wins against us came as a result of a block FG
attempt another hitting the upright. Since 2008 you haven't done nothin!
I love to read such CrispB comments. I have a dream ... that ONE DAY all Chris
B comments will be judged by the content of their quality and not by the humor
of their fallacy. I have a dream... that UTE trolls will stick to commenting on
U of U articles written for U of U happenings and will love their university
more than their rivals' I have a dream. That comments posted to DNews
articles can stay on topic, that peace will prevail & everyone will live
happily ever after. Please wake me on September 22nd.
PPP, aka, 3P which is pounds per player on defense is a serious problem. For
some opponents this year, the Y will be like a garden tractor and the opposition
will be like a D9 bulldozer...including VA.
