I haven't read much about this but it seems pretty harmless. What's
the difference between this and SNL skits mocking politicians?
Can't talk bad about the fuhrer. No you liable to lose your job or get
locked up. Soon you will be put to death when it gets even more tyrannical.
There are a lot of jokes that's inappropriate but is funny. It's a
clown. The pun is intentional.
What a bunch of bull!I bet that all those easily outraged folks have
never been to a rodeo, or seen a rodeo clown. Heck, most have probably never
even seen a horse, let alone stepped in cow poop.Rodeo humor is
crude, down to earth, and usually filled with self-deprecation. It is used to
fill the time between the events, where cowboys and cowgirls risk their lives
and frequently incur serious injuries pitting their skills against "rough
stock" critters many times their size, or in timed events requiring skill
and agility doing things that are still needed to raise the Wagu beef and steaks
that the outraged elites love but condemn those who raise it for them.Remember, the rodeo clowns are NOT just there for their entertainment value or
comedic skills (or lack thereof), but as safety people to separate riders from
the rough stock. The easily outraged would probably be even more
upset if they knew that rodeos usually proudly display flags, and play the
National Anthem, and engaged in other patriotic actions. Or, maybe that is
their real reason for outrage.
If this were Bush or Reagan, it never would have made the news. Except in
to the harmless rodeo clown, watch out for the "Revenge" or you will
certainly be "bullied" ... c'mon people, lighten up!!
How is this racist or even disrespectful?? It is a joke, a gag, designed to make
people laugh. Here in Utah I have seen that same exact stunt, where a dummy is
out in the arena wearing a mask. I have seen George Bush, both Clintons, and
even a Newt Gingrich mask. It is for fun. Why they are making this a race issue
I have no idea. DN Subscriber 2Rodeo clowns don't
mess with the livestock. Bullfighters do, they are separate from the clowns.
Clowns are strictly for entertainment, they do occasionally get in the barrel
for the bull related events. But bullfighters and clowns are separate. Just
Sheesh, people. Lighten up! I'm hardly a conservative, but I find this
completely harmless and not newsworthy.
And if Leno would have said this would we have all the outrage?
There is a clear parallel between this racist rodeo clown wanting a bull to gore
President Obama and the death of Emmett Till in 1955. In my mind, same thing.
From the state which brought Americans the Extermination Order...We
now have a Missouri Rodeo MC promoting the trampling of the POTUS.
thing is, maher and behar directed even worse at bush, but not one peep. Thanks CHS 85 for recognizing this is silly.
Eli- the clown asked if the crowd wanted to see himself (in an Obama mask)
"run down" by the bull. NOT gored. If you've ever been to a rodeo,
you know that the act by the clown jumping into the barrell while the bull
"runs it down" is a diversion while the staff readies the next chute. If
this were any other person on earth other than an African American character, no
one would have thought anything of it. Maybe the clown should put on a Putin
mask next week?To say that there is a parallel to Emmett Till is Reaching
at it purist definition. Look it up.What's next? Because the
"clown" is dressed up as a clown, is he being insensitive to
"clowns" ?Ugh! I'm soo sick of the thin skinned. Wait,
I'll probably get lit up for that comment by the Fraternal Order of Thin
Skins International. I'll apologize now.
Just another example of the left enforcing their views, and depriving other of
free speech and expression. The president is not above being
ridiculed and made fun of... Obama is not God.Political Correctness
is the child of communism.
This racist accusation thing is getting downright ridiculous. I've been
going to rodeos for decades and have seen literally every president during that
time made fun of in very similar ways. Not one word by the media or anyone else
has ever been said. Not a problem for anyone, and the audiences always enjoyed
the skits. It's always light-hearted... just like in this case. Now that we have the first black president, all the rules seem to have
suddenly changed. He's now put above what has been fair game for everyone
else, including all other presidents. It's all done in fun and no harm has
ever come from these humorous skits... never! Left wing zealots are
changing America in a decidedly negative way. Most of us will soon be longing
for the good old days before perceived political correctlness became extreme and
started ruling everyday behavior.
No where in the article does it say that people are upset because the prank was
racial. They are upset because the prank was directed at the president of the
United States. Seems like an overreaction to me. Furthermore, the announcer
appears to be trying to deflect all of the blame on the clown to avoid taking
whatever heat is being applied. I am very skeptical that his comment,
"Watch out for that bull, Obama" was meant as a warning to the clown
rather than a clever play on words to make everyone laugh. He probably
doesn't want to lose his government job.
There has been worse things said of others.Lighten up.Hurt feelings, is poisoning our country.
So let me get this straight:If a liberal burns an American flag or
burns a mannequin that is supposed to be George W. Bush, it's "free
speech".But if someone with a conservative political philosophy
wears an Obama mask and asks a crowd if they want to see 'Obama get
trampled' by a bull, that's "hate speech".Riiiiiight........
