Only a Russian who left Russia and became Americanized could possibly say $3
million was "not that great."
So, he didn't really care about winning a title at all for the first 12
years of his career?
Can't blame him, at his age, for wanting a shot at the title, but he's
not going to get it with the Nets. And there was a time when he assured all of
us that he wanted to end his career in Utah. After he broke the Jazz
financially with the max contract, he just wasn't willing to stick around
for what the Jazz then offered. A case could be made that he had already been
paid a whole career's worth of salary by the Jazz.
He was to inconsestant!
I find it ludicrous to bad-mouth AK.....The guy is a fine basketball player and
always has been. Injuries are part of the game....While in Utah, the guy was
overpaid, misused, and abused; and he had a personality conflict with
Sloan....but he's still one heckuva ball player.
