Living office-holders are politicians. Dead ones were statesmen. What you
suggest is that we need more statesmen.
It's easy to say nice things about people after they die. It's a
little harder to look for the good in living politicians. And sometimes
it's almost impossible to find. Take Mike Lee, for instance . . .
Being dead cures many character flaws.
When we have enough voters with sound principles, we will get
"politicians" who live by those sound principles.
