"My hat is off once again..."That would be hat made of tin
foil."Allegedly" killing Osama Bin Laden?Yep,
sounds like Rep. Chaffetz knows how to appeal to the GOP base.
Oh, this letter is sweet, just oozing the syrupy goodness of fringe conspiracy
theories. "allegedly" killed Osama bin Laden? "Assassination" of
Pat Tillman? This gives the Birthers a run for their money. I am guessing that
Representative Chaffetz is not nearly as appreciative of this letter and Mr.
DuPont would hope.
Bust out the 5,000 year Leap book folks! Hold it tightly!Time to
gird up your loins (tea party apparel)!Time to wave proudly your
flag (the Don't Tread on Me or Confederate flag).Time to
display proudly your signature to secede from the nation! And,
it's time to finally write a letter to the Dnews! It's tea
party time! And the GOP wonders why it keeps losing elections? The
tea party wonders why it's looked down upon by so many? Yes. By
all means. Lets exhaust every single resource and second we have to investigate
these radical conspiracies. Lets do absolutely nothing to resolve all the
important issues of today!
Joe must be either comfortably retired or comfortably living off his parents in
their basement. I don't know of a single working person who is worried
about the things that he writes about.
What planet does this guy live on? Congress needs to "investigate" or
"get to the bottom" of Osama and Pat Tillman? Gee, I was hoping that we
would instead have round three (or four) of steroids in sports. Enough!
Congress needs to do its job of solving the problems we elected them to work on.
Side shows are for carnivals or State Fair midways. It might be entertaining,
but if that is what you want get cable or better yet, get a life.
See, President Obama is anti-SEAL. That explains everything. Brother.
It took considerable courage to put your opinions in the DN, where you knew your
letter would suffer the slings and arrows of scorn and dismissal. I want you to
know there are those of us in the readership who agree with you--there are many
events that need thorough investigation and many unanswered questions that need
to be addressed.Think of your detractors as "coincidence
theorists", it may help. Also think how many conspiracy "theories"
turned out to be fact: the sinking of the Maine, the Gulf of Tonkin incident,
WMDs in Iraq to name just a few. I understand how discouraging that
no argument of substance supporting your conclusions will be listened to, even
when presented with evidence from experts or even Congressional testimony--the
great majority of people will refuse to accept it or will deny it. Nevertheless,
I hope you'll continue to do your research and speak your mind."If you are right and you know it, speak your mind. Even if you are a
minority of one, the truth is still the truth." Gandhi
Joe, Jason Chaffetz should be investigated for his SUPPORT of the
NSA spying of Americans Citizens. But - You'll continue to
turn a blind eye to reality to support your 'other' conspiracies.
Can you imagine how the press and liberals would have reacted if Obama was a
Republican and had these scandals?Nixon's administration did
less than Obama, and they put enough pressure on him that he resigned. We now have Obama who is spying on nearly everybody in the US, backing
terrorists, and has allowed the IRS to be used as a political tool for
intimidation, and the liberals don't care.
Doing some internet searching to figure out just what Chaffetz intends to
investigate, it didn't take long to uncover some internet conspiracy
theorists advancing a case that the Abbottabad raid didn't kill Osama
(he's either long dead or still running around, depending on which version
you read), and to cover up the 'Big Lie' the President set up the
SEALs to be shot down before they could reveal the truth.Without
diving into the holes in this theory, it's hardly surprising that Chaffetz
is the type to get involved in something on the level of 9/11 Truthers,
Birthers, Birchers, etc, spending time and money to investigate ANYTHING that
might embarrass Obama.
I think that people who think every step that our President takes should be
investigated is only covering for their own missteps. I think that
Jason Chaffetz is more interested in doing harm to our present government than
representing the people of Utah. I think there are more liars than
truth tellers in government, business, religion and the entire world; and it has
always been that way.Mostly I think there are more people willing to
destroy American than save her.
As a liberal, American citizen, enjoying the benefits of being an American I
cheer President Obama for his efforts on the behalf of the American people. I
fault President Obama only for his inability to overcome the hatred of his
detractors If we have to have totally spying on all Americans to
find and eliminate the overwhelming criminal element then I certainly am willing
to give up my privacy to the extent needed. If the units of our
government detect or suspect criminal intent, I hope they help enforce the law
even when it’s not their own area. The IRS and other government agencies
should all scrutinize and watch potential criminals, especially those who
outwardly declare themselves.
Redshirt,I hate having to point out the obvious, but Mr. DuPont's
letter doesn't address the IRS scandal or government surveillance programs
started by a Republican and continued under the Obama administration. I'm
hoping your comment wasn't an agreement with Mr. DuPont's conspiracy
theories, which is the real topic of this thread. "...and the
liberals don't care"That's amusing. You must be pretty
far down the rabbit hole of partisan politics to make a statement like that.
Especially after the W.Bush era scandals. One after another in that
administration, but I'm sure you raised your voice in protest against that
president, yes? You accuse Obama of "backing terrorists", so I am sure
you are very upset about the Iran Contra scandal and support of Saddam Hussein
during Reagan's administration. Liberals don't care? Probably not as
much as when a conservative has scandals, that's true. But you and many
conservatives are guilty of the same oversight, so I am unsure where you find
the moral authority to accuse others of the partisanship you hold.
VSTBountiful, UT@airnaut said, “Jason Chaffetz should be
investigated for his SUPPORT of the NSA spying of Americans Citizens.”Really? Well here is a “news flash” for you.========In other words...Jason Chaffetz was FOR the
NSA's illegal spying on it's citizens's BEFORE this political can
of worms came to light and NOW he is against it.Just goes to show
he's both a Hypocrite AND lacks Integrity.
Hey, how about a compromise here? How about if the folks that want to see these
dog and pony shows, do it on their own time? The Congress is in session only
Tuesday thru Thursday (when they aren't on a break). How about if the
business of the governing of the Country can only be transacted during the
"work week" and all other "hearings" take place on Monday or
Friday? That way, one doesn't take time from the other.
Couldn't let CLM's wmd comment pass. They found a few old and
abandoned, chemical weapons from 1991 and before. The nuclear and biological
programs had been unilaterally stopped and destroyed in the mid 90's. None
of this was even in the world of Rice's mushroom cloud scenario. It would
be like finding an old WWII unexploded bomb in the pacific and declaring Japan
was still armed and intending to attack America.
Ultra Bob"If we have to have totally spying on all Americans to
find and eliminate the overwhelming criminal element then I certainly am willing
to give up my privacy to the extent needed."That is a slaves
mentality. You have been indoctrinated by the biggest slavemaster President
Obama,to give up your freedoms if he asks you too. And you think your free. Is
this a joke?
"FreedomFighter41"You really need to find a new username.
"Joe must be either comfortably retired or comfortably living
off his parents in their basement. I don't know of a single working person
who is worried about the things that he writes about."So I guess
the Government can get away with anything. Tell the world they didn't do it
and all of their sheeple followers believe it. With your mentality, America will
surely die. Nobody has any accountability in your world and anything goes.
One fact should be crystal clear to Americans and people everywhere in the
world: governments habitually mislead and rationalize for their own benefit at
the expense of the governed. This includes fabricating their own conspiracy
fables. They hope thereby to ridicule those who suggest alternative accounts. As
CLM pointed out, these accounts sometimes turn out to contain more truth than
the government cared to admit. Too many Americans have lost interest in
questioning authority. Too many Americans demonstrate unearned trust in
smooth-talking politicians and officials of both major parties. Government is
not worthy of our blind trust.
@RedshirtThe IRS targeted groups with Progressive in their names too...
besides, if the IRS is so overwhelmed that the end result is backlogs of files
and/or shoddy work... how is cutting IRS funding going to help? That's just
going to make it worse.
To "Rand" and "atl134" you both missed the point of my
statement.Imagine what the liberals would have done to a Republican
president if the same scandals came to light during his presidency."atl134", you realzie that the of the 298 groups that were targeted
only 6 were liberal groups. That is more likely due to improperly filling out
paperwork than actually being targeted."Rand" you realize
that by just attacking me and not attacking Obama for pumping up the already
questionable government practices you only prove my point. Where is your
outrage that Obama would take a surveilance program set up to watch terrorist
activities and change it to put the entire US under surveilance?
