"The attorney general said the country must take a hard look at laws that
contribute to "more violence than they prevent.'"Does
he mean like when the US Attorney General (i.e. himself) thinks that the laws
allow him to dump a bunch of weapons over the boarder only to have criminals use
them to kill US law enforcement officers and kidnap US citizens? Is that what
he means? I'm guessing not.
@Fred VaderThe lesson from Fast and Furious is that our anti-trafficking
laws are woefully inadequate practically preventing us from acting based on
suspicion (because you know... gun rights).
These "leaders" like barack and holder are pathetic for taking sides in
this Treyvon Martin issue.Barack should come right out and say
"Zimmerman defended himself appropriately" since that is what the jury
decided. Barack and Holder would not have taken the same position if
Treyvon was white. And therefore that is racism.
Stand your ground wasn't even argued during the trial. It was a simple
case of whether it was self defense or not. Stand your ground wasn't even
George Zimmerman and his team didn't use the "Stand your ground"
law for his defense."Zimmerman Won't Use "Stand Your
Ground" Defense" Slate, August 14, 2012 by Elizabeth Hewitt. Holder is the lowest of the low, to go before a group of people and lie,
whipping them into a frenzy. Never let a crisis go to waste.
Dear Eric HolderYou have your guards with automatic machine guns for
your round the clock protection. I have a police station 2 miles from my home
and my gun. If your guards shoot someone threatening you, you will not be held
legally liable. If I am forced to shoot someone threatening my life or
threatening grave bodily injury, according to the law in my state, neither will
I be held legally liable. [Assuming Utah doesn't cave into political
pressure as Florida just did].You say you want to take away my legal
protection to protect myself should it become necessary? With all due respect,
can I ask that you first give up this protection for yourself?A good
leader leads by example and doesn't ask others to do that which they
wouldn't be willing to do themself. Put yourself at this legal risk first,
then we will talk.respectfully yourscjb
“it's time to question laws that senselessly expand the concept of
self-defense and sow dangerous conflict in our neighborhoods."Campaign tactics that sow dangerous conflict on our neighborhoods are OK,
though. Class warfare, race-baiting, etc., used deftly by the dems.“people who feel threatened have a duty to retreat”wait, is he Neville Chamberlain, or maybe French? how'd that work for
them?Of course, those laws against supplying guns to drug lords are
silly and should be abolished, same as those laws prohibiting black panthers
from suppressing the white vote. And of course, our immigration laws CANNOT be
enforced.Tell me eric, how could GZ retreat while Trayvon was
pounding his head into the pavement?atl134,what a stretch you
employed to defend holder. Pull any muscles?Lovelife,You
expect honesty from this misadministration? Really??
Well said cjbI want to vomit reading what Holder said, which
didn't even apply to the Zimmerman case. And for Holder, who has armed
guards for him and his family, to say that the stand your ground law goes to
far. I'd like to know if he would want his guards to use Zimmerman type
force to protect him and his family, or allow an attack to escalate and harm him
and his family. I agree with what Bill O'Reilly said about Holder last
night. He is a political activist posing as the Attorney General who chooses
the laws he wants to enforce and ignores the ones he doesn't like. The
Administration is now going to use this case to go after these laws in several
states as well as challange the 2nd Amendment again. I hope they try.
I guess illegally providing guns to drug lords that end up getting used against
border patrol agents prevented more crime than it caused? The AG
should "enforce" the law... not "make" the law. He's not
a legislator. He should not be using his office to make/change laws states have
legally enacted. He should "Enforce" the laws the legislature
Lost~Ha ha-this group tell the truth? Ha ha! Unfortunately some of our low-information voter friends have to have the truth
pointed out to them in the most obvious manner. All political, all
Going after the Hold-Your-Ground laws is obviously the next step of the extreme
political left in it's ongoing battle against gun rights and to undo our
2nd Amendment rights. It lost in it's last legislative attempt and is now
trying this tactic. Don't be fooled by these shenanigans.
Ok, suppose Martin had succeeded in bashing Zimmermans brains out - then what?
Would Holder even mention 'stand your ground'? This man Holder makes
