I have my own theory about diabetes. Sad that money was more important than life.

The American Diabetes Association has been claiming since 1968, 'a cure is just 10 years away', if they get sufficient money.

They have had ample money and 45 years, still no cure.

Can't we just call a scam a scam?

@ badgerbadger: How do you define "ample money"?

Exercise may not be a cure for diabetes 1 though it may well prevent diabetes II. It is very important for diabetics to have a vigorous exercise program including walking or jogging and resistance training. A cure is possible and has occurred in some cases such as a pancreatic transplant and temporary improvement with islet cell injections. Research can be very difficult and may take many years. We just have to keep going.

Diabetes is not confined to DT1 or DT2. Mature onset insulin dependent diabetes (MOIDD) comes in a spectrum. Exercise - important, low glycemic index foods - important, ideal BMI - important, but genetic determinants are significant. The closer medical research looks, the more complex it is.
