"U.S. employers added a robust 195,000 jobs in June...""The
economy has added an average of 202,000 jobs a month for the past six months, up
from 180,000 in the previous six.""Many of the new jobs were part
time. The number of Americans who said they were working part-time but would
prefer full-time work jumped 322,000..."US Census Bureau
estimate of population shows a monthly growth of 206,000.Assuming
the population is not getting any younger, since there are fewer jobs being
created in an average month than the population growth, a smaller portion of the
population is employed. Especially true since "many of the jobs are part
time" it can be assumed that some of those new jobs are going to people
already working part time and are holding multiple jobs, which means even more
people have no job. And the number who are working part time but want full time
work jumped 322,000 in one month. This is your idea of
"robust" job growth?WHAT RECOVERY??
In the last few months construction in our area (Florida) has increased. Less
scientific but noteworthy is the number of contractors picking up items at the
local big box store on their way to job sites at 7:00/8:00 AM. At noon our
local subway has no seating due to construction workers. I work in construction
now. So I look for trends. I have to ask "DN" Why did I find this
article under politics and not the business section?
Spoc, welcome to the new normal, where miserable is only bad.Worst recovery in our history, thanks to Obamacare, dudd-frank, and BO's
aggressive, uncontrolled EPA.
