Illegal immigrants are criminals and should be treated as all criminals.
It still seems a bit strange to on one hand put so much additional effort and
resources into capturing and keeping out illegal aliens, while on the other hand
rewarding those illegals who successfully beat the system earlier by giving them
their own citizenship. That truly sends a mixed message. The history
of Congress is to grant citizenship to illegal aliens every few decades, while
also appearing to get tougher on the issue. Each time that happens is supposed
to be the last, but obviously never is. As such, it's no big
surprise that the very latest Congressional report released this week predicted
that this legislation, as currently written, would fail to slow down the
continued increase of illegal aliens coming into the U.S... just as all past
immigration bills have failed in that regard.
Why don't we start allowing bank robbers to keep the money they
successfully steal, or kidnappers keep the children they successfully make off
with?Brilliant idea to let illegal immigrants go unpunished and
welcomed into our country as a result of their law breaking behavior
Fact is, ANY President, whether R or D could eliminate the "enhanced border
security" measures with the stroke of a pen. He/she could either refuse to
fund the security in a year or two, or tell the border agents to "stand
down".The "compromise" still doesn't say anything
about the fact that our country already has 7-8% unemployment and the
"compromise" will add ANOTHER 20 million job seekers to the labor
pool. Its fairly simple: Just ENFORCE the current law. Stop wasting
time on a way around it.
