What??Obams's "affordable" health care may not be so
affordable after all?Gee, what a shocker....
Irony at its finest:Obama has legislation passed to force companies to
give "affordable healthcare"Companies offer plans that people
cannot affordObama has IRS "penalize"(tax) those that cannot
afford the insurance and choose to go without. This sure is shaping
up to be a great piece of legislation.
Yes, let's blame Obama for the failure of companies to provide real wages
to their employees.
Maudine,no, we are blaming nancy and harry, along with BO, for pushing
through monstrous legislation no one bothered to read and therefore had no clue
about the ramifications. Of course, they did not care about the ramifications,
they just wanted to get something passed.Nice attempted obfuscation,
No "may" about it. Most people won't afford it.The IRS
will be busy forcing people to pay.
Well Obama's "Unaffordable care tax" has hit many small business
owners very hard. There are two big reasons why many are unable to provide
a lower cost insurance.1. The Act itself has certain rules demanding the
amount of coverage, major medical is not good enough, it must cover far more
then that. 2. Our premiums are sky rocketing. Every 6 months or so they
keep going up. We can not continue to provide the kind of health insurance
demanded by the tax law, without forwarding some of that cost to the employee.
There is no limit placed on what the Health Insurance Companies can charge
for a family, for coverage. So for many employers, we offer insurance that even
we can't afford to get for ourselves because that is the kind of coverage
the government is demanding.
To "Maudine" what kind of house would you be able to afford if the
workers were paid $40/hr for framing, painting, or other manual labor that takes
little to no skill?Think of the Lagoon. How many families could
even think of going there if they paid the wages required for all employees to
be able to afford health insurance. Thanks to the ACA many employers
have limited their part time jobs to 25 to 28 hours per week. The ACA has put
so many restrictions on employers that more people are either losing their job
or else are getting their hours cut. Then, when you add the massive
increases in premiums that it has added, the ACA is a massive failure.
Good grief, even the signature piece of legislation that was supposed to take
Obama to Presidential greatness is a mess. Please Republicans and Democrats,
let's learn from this mistake. No more rookies in the White House.
(Hmmmmm I wonder if Obama would win a third term if he could run.)
Is it a problem with ACA, or is it the result of pure old-fashioned corporate
How's this for just one example of greed among the "free
market's" big shots. The average CEO of a large corporations
is paid 9.6 million dollars annually.Break that down and you'll
discover that if that CEO takes four, one-minute potty breaks each working day,
he will be paid FOUR TIMES as much just for his time in the restroom as a
minimum wage worker will earn in A FULL YEAR of labor.Kind of give a
new meaning to trickle down, yes?Wonderful, ain't it?
one old man, I also think those kinds of wages for large corporations are huge.
However, corporations are PRIVATE businesses. It is not your or my place to
decide what they pay the CEO. It is called a free market and if those
wages are not sustainable the company should be able to go under. Unfortunately our government and this president has a nasty habit of saving
these businesses from themselves and sustaining those inflated incomes. No one
else in those corporations could have saved them? The workers themselves? Of
course they could have. GM could have lost the top brass and the workers could
have kept the company going, or some one could have been hiredlike Lee Iocoka to
restructure and save the business. No business should ever be to big to
fail! No small business should be forced to fail because of governmental
interference. We all should have the right to pursue happiness and our vision of
the American dream. It is not evil to make money and live in a big house! WE
should be able to tell our children that they could someday have nice things
one old man:--you don't see greed in Obama? He's spent
more of our money on one paid vacation then your average CEO makes in five
years. More spent on vacations then all presidents combined--AP news.Check up on his upcoming African vacation. If you're going to
criticize wealth,--start at the top, and work down.
