It is for stories like this one, rich in ironic humor, intended and otherwise, that I read every article by George Will that I can find.

Where else could one find a story about the legal wranglings, that rose to the levels of a state Supreme Court no less, involving the ramifications of indemnifying people from charges of "emotional damage" or "loss of companionship" due to the inadvertent, negligent or even malicious injury or death of a family pet?

Only a few broad-minded luminaries, like George Will, would use such a case to illustrate the fine line between judicial restraint and overreach. And, do it with such humor, articulation and graceful elucidation.

As I've said so many times before, thank you George.
