    Comments like this without a theoretical framework are just so much do-gooderism. The blunt fact is that in capitalism, employers really only want to pay and "protect" workers enough to keep them reproducing, maintaining the labor pool. Under capitalism labor, that is people, are a commodity, no more distinguished than any other raw material.

    @Marxist,

    All greedy people think this way about the people they exploit. Soviet leaders treated workers this way. Many American businesses now treat their workers this way. Most current Utah legislators treat teachers this way. Some union leaders treated their members this way. Some charismatic sect leaders treat their devotees this way. Some political leaders treat their political base this way.

    Regardless of party, religion, ethnicity or other identities that seem to separate us, we cannot remain free unless we work together to stay informed. Let's find a way to disenfranchise the majority of campaign money in favor of the majority of voters.
