    E-verify without a meaningful penalty for non-compliance is a sham. Under the "Gang of Eight" bill, penalties are watered down to practically nothing or eliminated altogether.

    I agree. It is vital that both a secure border, as well as strong enforcement of a status verification system be in place before any kind of 'pathway to citizenship' or amnesty is even considered.

    This is why it is very sensible that the factors encompassed in the immigration proposal in the US senate be discussed and deliberated on one at a time rather than the complete, complicated confusing bill.

    The bill stinks. The "American" people don't want to be duped again. ICE agents aren't allowed to arrest the illegals - that's why they've sued their own agency. Those in Congress who want this amnesty bill are traitors. We need term limits for Congress now. It's very simple: SECURE THE BORDER.
