If the outcome is anything other than death it will be a slap in the face to
every person killed, every person injured, every person present, and every
American. This is another Muslim terrorist who deserves to die. And
sooner rather than later.
Never let any good opportunity go to politcal waste. Just as we saw the left
use Sandy Hook to leverage gun control, watch for the GOP right wingers to use
this to close our borders and distrust any person with a Muslim background.
Chris B: Although I agree in part with your comments I don't think it is
appropriate to call him a Muslim terrorist. This implies that all Muslim's
are terrorist which is incorrect. Also, unfortunately criminals are innocent
until proven guilty. His actions though do speak louder than words but it is the
responsibility of all that we must forgive him for what he is accused of doing.
In the end his actions will be judged much better and probably fairer than
anyone here can by a just Heavenly Father.
This should have nothing to do with illegal aliens or protecting our borders.
One was here legally and the other was a natualized citizen. One was an
extremeist and the other possibily a follower. Either way this is a terrorist
act that if by some accounts may have been prevented or it was a random act of
violence that is unpredictable just as much as Sandy Hook was. As
for the Right wing, Mrt. Obama is using the Sandy Hook children and parents for
his own agenda which I find to be just as wrong as some right wingers may use
this terrorist act. Either way none of the laws would have stopped what happens
until the United States reverts back to a moral country.
@ HS fan.Why is it wrong for a problem to be the reason that you
bring up something that is wrong and contributed to the problem?@
Bill, Good points. But one minor disagreement. saying that the cat over there
is a "orange cat" does not imply all cats are orange. Similarly,
calling someone a Muslim terrorist does not imply that all Muslims are
@Bill,You are wrong on several accounts.Just as if I had
said "this young terrorist deserves to die" is not the same as me saying
that all young people are terrorists, neither does me reminding us all that he
is muslim suggest that all muslims are terrorists. Also, he is not
innocent until proven guilty. If he did this, he is guilty. Guilty
today, guilty yesterday and guilty from the second he blew innocent Americans
up. His rights in court do not change the fact that if he did this, he is
Bill,Nothing in Chris's comment implies all muslims are terrorists.
If that is how you read it, there is something wrong with the way you read. The facts are that he is a terrorist and he is muslim.
I respect Chris B's opinion, and, frankly, am not sure where I stand on the
issue of life or death. Does this person need to pay for what he did? Yes,
just as much as anyone else that takes life deserves to pay. Should it be by
death? Or should it be in solitary confinement, without life's luxurys,
mind you, where he rots in a cell of the rest of his life. Or, should it be a
sentence that he is left on the streets of Boston, and everyone in Boston and
the world knows the time and place, and the authorities then take the night
Re: ". . . under U.S. law, American citizens cannot be tried by military
tribunals, White House spokesman Jay Carney said."That'll
certainly come as a surprise to the score or so of US-citizens convicted by
military tribunals in the past, as well as to the courts that upheld the
action. This terrorist is clearly an illegal enemy combatant, taken
on a field of battle he designated, in the act of waging war against the United
States. Not in accordance with international law, mind you, but that's just
another war crime to charge. The law is clear -- he can be tried in
the courts or by a tribunal. If Obama wants to try him in federal court, OK.
Seems like a low-risk approach, since they've clearly got tons of
admissible evidence against him.But to assert that this enemy
combatant is somehow different than all the other US-citizen enemy combatants,
appropriately tried and convicted by military tribunal is just
politically-motivated propaganda, intended to sway one or another
low-information Democrat constituency.
@lost in dc So then the purpose for mentioning his religion would be what
exactly? You can try to hide behind semantics but then you might want to be
prepared to answer why it was relevant to mention in the first place.
All of the faulty syllogisms from the right and the left are giving me a
There is some irony that he is recovering in Beth Israel hospital.
Could face death penalty?
Just another day in our world of religious-based violence.
George,nice out-of-context interpretation.Bill was saying
Chris said all muslims were terrorists. I was correcting him.But
since you brought it up, his being muslim appears to be part of his motivation.
And I am NOT saying all muslims are like motivated."The two
brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon appear to have been motivated
by their religious faith but do not seem connected to any Muslim terrorist
groups, U.S. officials said Monday after interrogating the severely wounded
younger man." DN 4/22/13 8:44 pm.
@lost "I am NOT saying all Muslims are like motivated."The 24 terrorist that have attacked the US in the name of Islam represent
.0004 percent of the Muslim population in the US so I would hope you
wouldn't. On 9/11 many of my Muslim neighbors and friends lost
loved ones right along with the rest of us and were and are just as much the
victims of these horrible crimes as anyone else. All I ask is that people
