The cell phone and mobile cameras that people use due to freedoms are an amazing tool when used for the correct reason. Thanks to citizens that just happened to be there and using their cameras on this occasion. Not all of these people were young, just youthful in enjoying the Marathon for many good reasons, people they know were there.

This was due to very good coordination with the FBI, local and state police organizations and the citizens providing information, most of it good for the investigation.

    Thanks to all.

How ironic -- considering a mistake clearly was made when these two brothers were admitted into this country -- that literally minutes from now, the Senate will be considering the Gang of Eight's immigration "reform" bill which within six months (despite Marco Rubio's brazen denials to the contrary) would formally grant legal residency status to tens of millions of illegal aliens who in fact have demonstrated by their actions that they do not respect this nation nor its citizens.

But a successful propaganda campaign has falsely shamed Americans into silent submission to the Gang of Eight's surrender of U.S. sovereignty that they dare not open their mouths in dissent.

    How "compassionate" of them.

The backstory is emerging that these boys came here as refugees ten years ago. Their parents are still in Russia. (Shame on us for separating families.)
They apparently did not assimilate well.
There are reports that the older one got a green card back in 2009 and had a domestic violence rap sheet from 2011, probably not enough of a record to get him deported at that time.
The question is going to be their involvement with terrorist cells. This would be an extreme reaction from two boys working alone.
Political correctness has been a hindrance to investigations in the past.

How did they become monsters at such a young age? Read the remarks of the father. It seems clear he not only knew about and approved of his sons' actions, but is cut from the same bolt of cloth. It wouldn't surprise me to learn the family sent them here for just this task and collaborated with them in planning it.

This is called locking the barn door after the animals have left. We allow anyone to walk into this homeland and basically do as they please, we jump to meet their demands and satisfy their desires, and then we really wonder why things like this take place. And when they DO happen, rather than stopping the influx of unknowns and miscreants, we rush to the other side of the planet and spend hundreds of billions trying to change their cultures and ways of life. We have to be some of the slowest learners in the history of the world.

Okay, now that some are calling for closing our borders, then we must close our borders to everyone and send everyone who is here right now on a visa back to where they came from. Again, that should be everyone, not just the ones people think are Muslim.

By the way, Cris B: There are hundreds of Muslims in Norway, and yet it was one of their own that killed the innocent there. Wonder why that is? And I have to assume you have stopped watching and supporting those sports whose atheletes have converted to Muslim, and would support kicking those particular Americam Muslims out of the US??

That is a misrepresentation designed to justify the illegitimate villification of those who disagree with you: Most illegal immigration opponents are fine with legal immigration and don’t want CLOSED borders - they want CONTROLLED borders. And yes; that applies to immigrants from anywhere. And yes; if they are here ILLEGALLY, they should go home and start over with a LEGAL process.

To anti-liar and everyone else who tried to make this an immigration issue:

By the same reasoning it was a mistake to allow the Oklahoma City bomber, the Colorado movie theater shooter, and all of the perpetrators of the school shootings to be born in this country.

This is NOT about immigration. Any more than Sandy Hook is about gun control (or Boston - "pressure cooker" control?) Passing laws restricting legitimate activity is not the answer.
(Yes, immigration is a legitimate activity - most Americans are here because of the immigration of our ancestors.)

There are two ways to fight evil: with good (i.e. being good neighbors, teaching values, etc.) and with force when necessary (police, military, citizens defending themselves with guns, etc.)

Might it not be a good idea to see what was said to the police regarding an attempt to steal a car that made them think they had found the suspects? I'd surely like to know more about that and how the police ended up in a gun battle with them. I guess I'll reserve judgement until more facts and less hypertension and hyperventilation are displayed on these blogs.

I am glad one of the two are off the streets.

Isn't it amazing how much evil can be axccomplished by even just one family? Marathon races are now changed forever and I don't think anyone over 12 years of age will ever forget what happened this month in Boston. I know I won't.

The best to those still in critical and serious condition in Boston hospitals and those injured, maimed and families of those killed in the horrendous event. These are life-changing and life-ending events. Prayers for each affected individual.

We want the borders to be regulated, protected and policed.
We as a nation, need to make sure those who enter our country are willing to live within the laws we have established.
I supposed you have watched the news, then you know that many of our public lands are no longer safe to travel. Utah's back country has been invaded by illegals planting pot farms along stream beds and hill sides.
Down here we have been warned by the US Forest Service to not go into the back country unarmed or alone in the summer time. These men do carry guns.
Do you all want to live like this still.
Close our borders so the entrance into our country is regulated!

We unfortunately cannot control peoples ideas and who they associate with.

If you have a good way of keeping Muslim terrorists out of our country and a way to prevent Muslim terrorists here in American communicating with and working with Muslim terrorists in other countries that would be a good place to start.

It's becoming more difficult for the liberal media to pretend there is no correlation between terrorism and Islam.

This is another example they are strongly related.

And until we care more about US citizens than offending a muslim we'll continue to see acts such as this carried about by terrorist muslims.

So, superfluous, you think because they did not shoot him as he lay bleeding out in the bottom of a boat, that this somehow proves your point? Oh my.

Okay, last time, if, because of the suspects actions, the police had been forced to shoot at him they would have shot to kill him. They would have never tried to just wound him. Now if the suspect was not posing an immenent threat then perhaps the police would have used less then lethal means. But when a police officer feels that he or she must discharge their weapon at someone they will shoot to kill. That's just the way it is, except in the movies. You see, the only way you can shoot at someone is if they are an immediate threat, and a wounded person is still a threat. (Look at the second suspect, he could have still killed more people.) The FBI will function under these rules of engagement also.

Having belief in a religion does NOT make one a conservative.

You can be a conservative and have no religion or religious belief at all.

There are many on the liberal or leftest side with extreme religious beliefs, such as forced charity, forced behavior as they choose, anti-liberty and anti-agency, pro-abortion, pro-porn, pro-homosexuality, and so forth.

Funny how it is the extreme left that is most supportive of radical islam, not the right.

These two adults are Radical Muslims, one of them even had a youtube channel filled with Al Qaeda propaganda videos and even had radical training abroad.

Their motivation is not in question.
