Unfortunately this is happening on all airlines. In an effort to cut cost they
have all cut service to the bone. Whatever you expect a flight to be like, just
expect it to work. Unlike most industries, after peaking in the 80's and
90's the quality of the product in the airline industry gets worse and
worse as the price goes up and up.
I agree for the most point with many of the comments here - I fly frequently and
dread it now almost always.... but..... just tonight on a flight from Utah to
North Carolina a passenger suffered a hear attack, and the crew was amazingly
professional and dealt with the situation as good as anyone could imagine. They
were the poster children for professionalism - and no - they didm work for
Delta. So while some airlines in the board rooms are making amazingly short
sighted decisions (per haps coin operated toilets are next), there are rank and
file crew members that are out there going above and beyond to make the
situation as good and as safe as they can.
People need to grow up and start complaining. So you're crammed into a
tiny seat next to an overweight person...but guess what? You just traveled
across the entire continent in 5 hours! 200 years ago that same trip took 6
months.Americans are such whiners. Next time you're flying,
remember this: You're sitting in a chair that's 35,000 feet off the
ground and moving at 500 mph. And all you can do is complain that it won't
recline very far? Geez.
I fly about 30-40 thousand miles a year on Delta and have relatively few
problems. It has all been domestic, no international, and I have only had one
flight cancelled. That was just a few months ago with the ice storms in SLC, I
got stuck in Chicago. Delta doesn't control the weather. I hear of horror
stories and baggage being lost, but for the most part, I have been lucky.
And taking TSA to task for keeping us same is baffling to me. When was the last
time you got 'frisked' at the airport? And if you were why? Whose
fault was it?
