"We've known for years that our immigration system is broken..."Our immigration laws are just fine... which essentially says 'if
you want to come to this country and become a citizen you must fill out the
necessary papers, get in line, and await your turn. What's broken is
enforcement of our immigration laws. And the president and his Attorney General
are the guilty party. The president took an oath to uphold the US Constitution
and see that the laws of the land were faithfully enforced. In this he has
failed. In fact, he had thumbed his nose at the immigration law. Perhaps
it's because his, himself is an "The measure also would
allow tens of thousands of new high- and low-skilled workers into the
country."We don't need more workers into this country. We
don't have the jobs for them as we can see by our high unemployment rate...
which will likely last for a dozen years or more.
We have great laws, when enforced. What guarantee does the American worker have
that laws will be enforced in the future. Deport 5 million, e-verify
nationally with business licenses pulled, THEN we talk.
