Can someone (a Mormon insider) please explain why the DN is running so many
stories on this subject?
Tyler D. Because it is very BIG news, and the fact that the World is much
bigger than Idaho and Utah.
Dubai, how about this rebuttal. Why don't you tell the rc church that the
world is much bigger than they are and to give as much print to the affairs of
the LDS Church in the papers in and around Rome and the Vatican that we give to
their controversies, scandals, politics, etc... Tit for tat and all that.
Remember, what's good for the goose Is good for the gander. Also, the
first vicar(not to be mistaken for a true Apostle) was not Peter's
successor as the majority believes. And yes, a billion people can be wrong.
Peter's successor was Joseph Smith and the fact that Peter brought James
and John into the ordination confirms that.
Not much in Religion has been "confirmed"
Really? @tahoemormon70This, and the other post where you stated
essentially the same thing, are a fairly narrow-minded view of the world.
First, the DN covers local, national AND international news. This is an
important international news story. The election of a pope directly and
indirectly affects well over a BILLION people world-wide. That is far more than
15 MILLION members of the LDS church. While you don't believe the Catholic
church to be true, many do, including many in this community.Making
snide remarks about how a billion people are wrong, and that Roman and Vatican
newspapers should carry coverage of the LDS church just because the DN is
carrying coverage of something highly important to the Catholic church is
offensive, not only to Catholics, but to other members of the LDS faith like
myself, who believe in being loving, and being understanding of other
people's religious beliefs.If you're not interested,
don't read it. But, as for myself and others, I'm enjoying the
coverage. Thanks DN. Keep up the good work.
