The title - 'Hatch deceitful’says it all...
Thank you Senator Hatch for your service. You have been one of the best
Senators this state has ever had. We support what you do and how you have
worked to bring about the best situation for our state and our conservative
Mr. Hatch is a politician, first and foremost. What he does benefits him, his
image, and his ability to get re-elected. He has shown us what happens to a man
who goes to Washington and then drinks deeply from the politician's cup.
He has become everything that he campaigned against. Potomac fever rages
through him. That disease cannot be cured. Once caught, the politician has it
Mike RichardsSouth Jordan, Utah9:01 a.m. March 8, 2013=======So then - why did you vote for him...again?
To "airnaut" because for as bad as Hatch is, he is still better than
what the next alternative was during the general election.
@ airnaut aka LDS Liberal aka Open Minded Mormon,You get around,
don't you?Who said that I voted for Hatch in the last election?
Were you in the voting booth with me?
I seldom take Mr. Richards serious because they are usually laced with over the
top partisan rhetoric.... but... in this case, that of his first comments, I
have to agree, whole heartedly.I don't doubt that most people
head off to Washington to do the right thing. But then they get seduced by the
life style, and soon start compromising their standards. They start bending in
the wind to the loudest voices. They stop being the people that were elected,
rather morph into something they think is re-electable. Its not
hard to tell when this happens. It is when the person stops being able to
seethe positive in other people other, even when they are on the opposite side
of the political spectrum. What I respected most is that despite their
political differences, Hatch stood by and did not apologize for his friendship
with Kennedy, despite having different political views on many issues. But then things changed. Both with Hatch, and with Utah politics -
neither for the better.
Wow, I finally have something Mike R & I can agree on.
Give me a break. The filibuster lasted what - 3 or 4 days? They wanted Hagel to
answer some more questions, then they gave him the up or down vote. This is a
legitimate, short-term use of filibuster. Both parties do it. It is extremely
hypocritical to go around railing against only one party for using the
I find that Senator Hatch has outlived his effectiveness in Washington. I feel
his last campaign was more for ego appeasement than anything close to serving
the interests of the citizens of Utah. I have read nothing of "Utah
Values" and seen nothing of "Utah's Time to Lead" in his
performance. I am in my seventh decade of life and he is well into his and will
be in his eighties when he retires, or decides to run again. Neither of us are
the men we once were. One of us knows that, and the other lives in a dream.
Wow! I agree w/ Mike & RanchHand. Here comes the apocalypse!?
Hatch, Lee. They are wasting our time and money. The US has been in decline
financialy for 30 plus years. Hatch has been in the senate for 30 plus years.
