Still unanswered:@hy Utah didn't immediately suspend Winslow as
soon as they learned of the investigation by Arizona authorities in December?
Why didn't Utah's Dept of Public Safety immediately
contact Utah's Athletic Dept?As far as we have been told, Utah
doesn't know anything more about the investigation now, than they knew in
UoU 1991, those questions were answered in the other article. Hill suspended
Winslow within a day of learning of the allegations. Utah's Dept of Public
Safety was ordered not to disseminate the information by the police
investigating the allegations until they ordered it.
StGtoSLCWhy would the Arizona authorities not want Utah's
Athletic Dept to know about a possible child molester operating within their
department?Who would be held responsible if it was discovered that
Winslow tried to molest a child on Utah's campus sometime between December
2012 and when he was suspended?Regardless of what the Arizona
authorities requested, it seems that Utah's Dept of Public Safety was
putting the university at extreme risk by not immediately notifying the
department that employed Winslow.
Whatsnu, if I was an Arizona police investigator I'd answer that question,
but I'm not. My best guess is that they felt if Winslow knew he was being
investigated, he could contact others involved in the investigation and
compromise the work the police were doing.
Freaky....just plain freaky. Sometimes I wonder if people have the best interest
in mind for the children of the world. Stop being politically correct and
protect the kids.
There is about to be a lot more coming out on this story and none of it reflects
well on chris hill or the university of utah. utah "fans" prepare
yourselves to go into full on spin mode.
