word is out that obama is nominating a Kohl"s clerk to be the next secretary of commerce. she didn't give $5k to barry but she has been a Kohl's teammate for 3 years. barry continues to raise the bar.

Repubs complain when career bureaucrats are appointed with no "real world experience." They also complain when business executives are appointed with "real world experience." How surprising.

It will be interesting to see how she works out since the environmentalist are always complaining about "big oil". She is an environmentalist and big oil employee. I hope she can show that these two sides don't always have to be adversarial.

This will be interesting. She offers some balance. It might be hard for either side to do a lot of whining now.

But that just might for some real pouting.

A step in the right direction after years of watching the GOP mortgage our future for the next quarterly dividend.

"Your doing a heck of a job Brownie" Bush said to the horse breeder he put in charge of Fema.

Lets face it, unless he appointed Exxon oil executive to this position, the neocons will complain.

    Great comment - Agreed!

Didn't Mitt Romney base his entire campaign as being qualified for President because he had been a successful CEO? A Washington outsider?
And the GOP cheered him on for it?

    Hypocrites.

REI to be made head of DOI? OIA wanting to sacrifice So.Eastern Utah on the alter of "recreation/eco-tourism"? Can you say "crony capitalism"?

Worty of being heard from at here confirmation hearing. Only gave $5000 to Obama so it is hard to believe he even considered her.

It is interesting to see an outdoor retailer that loves Utah's market and outdoor retailer show will be working to have fewer people travelling through Utah's parks and federal lands to use REI products less.

How will she make her balance on the books and have fewer people? CEOs have board members to satisfy and now she will have to deal with lobbyists and bureaucrats to make her job successful.

    Good luck.

Which anti-environmental propaganda machine did that nonsense come from?
