It's okay...a bunch of non-climatologists in Utah have convinced me that
there's no such thing as global warming. They'll be here soon to
explain how our recent cold snap proves it.
Being the sun worshiper that I am,I rather enjoyed the 100 degree plus we had here this summer.......
Mother Nature is not a Christan, Jew or Muslim. She's impartial and has an
auto-correct mechanism for any of her species that over extends the carrying
capacity of their ecosystem.
One thing to note is that the record is for the contiguous states, not counting
Alaska and Hawaii since the article doesn't seem to make that clear.
I'm glad for a little global warming. Temps have been too cold for comfort
lately. If it weren't for that thick layer of carbon fossil fuel emissions
keeping things warmer it would be awful cold.
I am happy to see some warming! My heating bills were getting atrocious and
think of all the carbon not being emitted by this decreased need for heating!
It's great for boating in the summer!
I'm just glad we made it out of the global cooling that was taking place
when I was in high school in the 70's.
Some folks whose heads are firmly stuck in the sand probably won't pay much
attention until their tail feathers ignite.
As the SORCE and ACRIM satellite data reveals, the reason that 1998 record was
not broken until now is that the Sun stopped warming for a bit.The
Sun resumed warming as of last year. Expect surface temperatures to respond
appropriately. And let's be glad the Earth is still thawing from
the Little Ice Age. The misery of Charles Dickens' novels reflected the
effects of even a small amount of cooling. We are fortunate indeed that it came
to an end.
