"Just sayin', in case Taysom Hill doesn't work out at
quarterback"Brad, knock it off. Three years ago
Bronco wanted something change and Robert A. chosed to leave which I think was a
mistake. Meaning Webber was the one need to go. Am I wrong here? For example,
BYU doesn't believe in firing and Bronco had to come up with something and
hoping will change for the better. Well, not really. I feel bad for Brandon and
I hope he stick around as qb coach or something.
Brandon Doman can stick around as Defensive Coordinator. Since Bronco does
everything on that side of the ball anyway, then Doman could just sit around
Adam Smith: self-interest in a free-market economy leads to economic well-being.
BYU is in it for themselves as well as the coaches. Money and self interest.
Maybe Arizona had greener pastures at the time. And the green pastures are here
until the greener pastures are somewhere else. just like the utah state coach
who left for greener pastures. When i am working for this company that says they
care about me--i don't believe it. They take care of themselves; we just
provide a service to them like contractors.
The only trouble with your analogy is that Robert Anae was not democratically
re-elected. It was Tom Holmoe's decision.Bringing back Anae as
Offensive Coordinator was unquestionably a Bold Move. Bringing back Gary Crowton
as Head Coach would be an Even Bolder Move. Getting another year of eligibility
for Riley Nelson as starting Quarterback would be an Even Bolder Bold Move. Of course the trouble with being Bold is that if it doesn't pay off
YOU have to Move.
No, Henry bringing Back Crowton and Nelson would be disastrous moves for BYU.
Luke Warm fans do not think for one moment that Robert Anae was
forced down Mendenhall's throat by Tom Holmoe. If that were to happen I
think Bronco would be looking elsewhere.
We are going to regret this move!
Good players make coaches look smart and the reverse is also true. Welcome back
Bringing back Anae is questionable to most fans - we'll wait and see how it
works out. Bringing back Crowton or Nelson would result in a revolt. I believe Anae will bring improvement to the O line, involve the TEs more, and
won't run the QB's 19 times a game. I think Hill, Williams, Hoffman
and Apo are going to make Anae look like a genius. Even though it will be a
challenging schedule, I'll go out on a limb and predict 10 - 2, with loses
only to Texas and Notre Dame.Wins against Wisconsin, Boise and Utah
will have all of us feeling better. It will be nice to end the Utah rivalry
with a W.
"Anae is in charge of restoring the once-prominent BYU offense, which has
sputtered in three straight losing seasons. (AP Photo/George Frey)"Ahem.Well, I don't know who this "George Frey" guy
is, but I don't think he is qualified to write for the AP. BYU
over the last three seasons has had WINNING records2010 7-62011
10-32012 8-5Although these are not the results that we had
hoped for, they are not "losing" records. Perhaps the writer was
confused with Utah who did have a losing season this year.
While not thrilled when I first heard the news that Anae had been hired again, I
feel the offense will be much better than it would have been in 2013 if no
coaching changes had been made. And for the long term, Anae just might be what
we need. Time will tell.
