"In the U.S., our fiscal situation lurches from one crisis to another, with
the two parties more ideologically polarized than most people can ever remember.
Regular procedures in Congress are frozen because of partisan gridlock —
no budget passed in the last four years — suggesting that our political
system has become incapable of addressing our long-range problems. Prediction:
2013 will be a rocky year, politically."No argument there
Senator. No argument at all.
Canada will not experience political crisis of any kind in 2013.
Speaking of predictions, in the coming New Year, 2013, both Groundhog Day and
the State of the Union address will occur on the same day. This is an ironic
juxtaposition of events. One involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to
an insignificant creature of little intelligence for prognostication. The other
involves a groundhog.
Euro tanks, all political nations experiencing criseshealth care initially will be rockypartisan gridlockparty polarization to extremesand yet you remain an
optimist??????better for you to say hold on we are in for a rough
What the good senator perhaps unknowingly reports is the demise of the GOP.A rocky legislating session in 2013 means an even rockier election
season for the GOP in 2014. In particular, the Tea Party. The GOP,
as it should, is taking the brunt of the blame for their obstruction. They are
the ones making the bulk of legislating so difficult and "rocky." They
care more about making Obama look bad and sticking up for their rich cohorts
than the good of America.Americans are angry at this dysfunctional
Congress and they see the GOP as the primary reason for the dysfunction. See, in
November Americans were given 2 choices. They clearly rejected (both in the
electoral college and popular vote) the GOP's agenda. It was thrown into
the garbage. Americans didn't want it. They had seen for years the
fallacies of "trickle-down" economics. Yet... Have members
in Congress gotten the message that they were rejected? Have they listened to
the voice of the American people? If 2013 is going to be rocky, then they
clearly have not.No more obstruction! No more! GOP
better act fast or face extinction. 2013 better not be rocky or else!!!
It seems like my house might go up in value but everything else will stink and
be at crisis point. I'm glad the Senator is an optimist...
@ Mountainman. That is the funniest thing I've read for weeks. Very true
indeed!! "Optimist?". Only a Senator that seved 17 years and 364 days
too long could look at this mess and say something that unintelligent. Thank you Mike Lee for doing the right thing. I don't care who is
getting the blame, (it's a medis driven thing) Obama shoulders most of the
blame for this mess.. Call him Lucy. Keeps moving the football until he gets
what he wants.
