"Gov. Gary Herbert was quoted as saying the state benefits from low taxes, a strong labor force and a favorable regulatory climate." It's true Utah's labor force is strong and hard working. But Forbes also thinks we're hot because we have very weakly enforced environmental laws and a culture where one dare not admit sympathies towards organized labor.

My family and I took the front runner from Provo to Salt Lake. The Trax system was also inundated so we had to walk to Gateway and then get on the Trax to Temple Square, packed to the hilt going and coming. We waited in line for three trains before we got on our trip going to SLC. We came back on probably the second to last train just after 9:30 p.m. The train cars were packed well beyond reason with people sitting on the floor, in the stairwell etc. It was uncomfortable and probably unsafe but since it was an hour or so ride, many of us did our best and even made the best of it joking at our plight. But it seemed like things could have been better organized with more trains running and even more buses available for people to stay warm while waiting in line. I'm not against using front runner but it wasn't a best first experience.
