    This will be Sen. DeMint's Waterloo.

    Let me guess ---

    He was hoping Mitt Romney would win, and The Senate Republicans would be the new Majority.

    Since the Tea-Party darlings actually helped cause the GOP to lose in every category of government (WhiteHouse, Senate, Congress).
    He's going to make more $$$ as a Tea-Party Lobbyist.
    As a minorty Senator, he could do nothing more than take a back seat and whine.

    Doesn't take a crystal ball to figure this one out...

    Glad to see this sign of the demise of the "tea party". I think Ron Paul and the Tea-Party were the critical (pun intended) factors in Romney losing.

    Just so the left knows,

    The leading candidate to take Jim DeMint's place is a Black Conservative, who is a leading member of the tea party.

    All the while Jim DeMint is still working for conseratives and the tea party.

    So while you all live in your fantasies about the tea party, the reality is quite different.

    Think they got it backwards, should read "Our state's gain is the Heritage Foundation's loss."

    @LDS Liberal

    Under Harry Reid's leadership the only thing Senators in the majority have been able to do over the last six years is whine.

    @justired

    I think the entitlement-oriented big-government left-wing voters were the critical factor in Romney losing. I guarantee you very few Tea Party voters actually ended up voting against Romney.

    @Kim

    This is a win-win actually. South Carolina will get another GOP Senator and the Heritage Foundation will get a solid leader. And that'll be too bad for the hippies.
